Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Final Round (Scoreboard Update)
2001 just grabbed over 1000 pts (I haven't added it up yet). well done. One thing, Marathon/Mega Marathon Viewings * Can Only Be Used Once Per Month* Ten Movies Over 24 Hours - 100 pts. Twenty Five Movies Over 72 Hours (Or One Weekend) - 500 pts. You'll get the 500 pts but I can't give you the other 100 pts. sorry. But still, you just kicked major ass.

I never paid attention this till now, where do you put all the movies you've seen that count if this is just the scoreboard?

I think I'm done with horror films for quite awhile. I've seen enough intestines to last me for some time.

Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Winners And Prizes!!!
I'll been a wild past 3 months. Congrats to all the winners and a small thanks to those that played for the first week and bailed. And now without further ado... Trixster (914 pts.) should be comfortable with 5th place seeing as he also placed 5th last year. Consistent and steady, Trixster watched 128 films. His ability to cut to the core of films made him a great player Slumdog Millionaire (Danny Boyle, 2008) - Really bad (home) Ugh. Don't even get me started. Best Editing - 2000-08
Stalker (Andrei Tarkovsky, 1979) - Masterful (home) I have no idea what it's about, but that only makes it more superb. Cinelitist: Part I5th Place Prize: $25 Gift Certificate I predict a 4th Place finish next year!

Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Winners And Prizes!!!
Jon (986 pts.) only watched 57 films, the fewest by far of any winner. But what he lost in quantity, he made up for in quality. The films of John Ford, Best Director nominees from the 1930's, this kid dug deep for the best of the best. Last Year at Marienbad - **** (Home) (Cinelitist: Part I) I am perplexed, yet transfixed, and therefore I love it. What crazy shit.
Army of Darkness - *** (Party) Groovy.4th Place Prize: Casablanca Blu-Ray Boxset Well Done Jon!

Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Winners And Prizes!!!
2001 (1729 pts.) promised to double his score in the final days of UMM3 and boy was he right. He added over 1000 pts to his score by watching 25 films in a span of 3 days, many of which were Friday the 13th related. 77 films in total, including Serendipity: B+ (Home) BS in the real world, yet that wedding gift scene still got me.
Singin' in the Rain: A- (Home) If you failed to enjoy this in any way, you've completely lost your shit3rd Place Prize: The Stanley Kubrick Archives Wouldn't be surprised if you won the game next time.

Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Winners And Prizes!!!
be.redy (2674 pts.) was a beast. He jumped into the top 3 shortly after the game started and never slowed down. He actually came within 17 pts of taking the lead at one point. be.redy watched 90 films during the contest including The Unborn (d. David S. Goyer) [2009] -- 2/10 (home) Almost an absolute crap.
Rescue Dawn (d. Werner Herzog) [2007] -- 6/10 (home) Why is Herzog obsessed with jungles? He's channeling his inner monkey way too much. The movie is good, but not a single Herzog has been awesome to me.Runner Up Prize: The Joker You did extremely well be.redy!

Re: Ultimate Movie Mayhem III - Winners And Prizes!!!
And finally... Jmart007 (2974 pts.) isn't new to UMM. He came in 4th last year and while only 300 pts separated 1st and 2nd place this year, it was never really close. In fact, the only time he didn't lead the scoreboard was during the first few moments of the game. After that, he never looked back. 106 films but not just any 106 films. Best screenplay nominees from the 90s, Best supporting acting nominees from the 00s. Sound from the 70s, Directors from the 80's, Cinemtagraphy from the 40's, Kubrick, Romero, the Halloween and Saw franchises, low-grossing and little seen films from last year. Jmart007 was able to tackle pretty much any bonus list thrown at him. Meteor (1979) - No Stars (Home) - *Best Sound Oscar Nomination '79* You know, I was originally going to give it half a star because Connery and Malden were at least the only decent part of this mess and managed to keep things interesting. But then the movie decides that it's going to attack them with a river of shit. Wow. It's not only the worst disaster movie ever made (How is it exciting to have people stare at rockets for most of the second act?) with some of the worst special effects ever made, it's one of the worst movies ever made. And fuck does it look cheap too.
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982) - **** (Home) - *Best Director Oscar Nomination '82* "I'll be right.....here". It's a fucking puppet and I cry like a baby every time.Grand Prize: Indiana Jones Giftpack
