So, is Slumdog coming out on DVD 3/31 or not?

If it's delayed, I think we will make it. If it's out on DVD 3/31, we 2008 won't pass 2007.

The other 4 nominees I think can muster up around $4m, mayyyybe $4.5m. Slumdog has a solid $10-12m left in it without a DVD release.

Will be very close. Within $2-3 million, definitely.

Slumdog dropped hard. We'll miss it by $4-4.5 million

Considering the bottom 3 films this year only grossed 83.7 Mill vs the 140.1 Mill of last year, I'd say its still a huge victory.

Especially a worldwide victory, since Benjamin Button is at $200+ million overseas alone and Slumdog Millionaire is well on its way there too.

only another 500k shaved off this weekend

5,344,322.

I guess the new question is whether 2009 can beat 2008. If the line up is

The Lovely Bones
Nine
Public Enemies
Shutter Island
Untitled Nelson Mandela Film

it should. But I doubt that's the lineup.

If avatar should get a nom, it'll obviously crush. Otherwise, I see both Nine and Lovely Bones hitting 100m at least, however I don't see Shutter and Public getting noms, they sound too "crowd Pleaser" although Scorcese does count for something.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.
