We have another first game winner, and it's 'BrandonGrayFan'.

Ugh.

It could be Brandon Gray himself rebooting, or feeding someone his predicts.... Probably not, but....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the derby averages for all openers have never been this close together before, and for good reason.

Didn't expect such crappy internal multiplers, so you fell quite a bit Proud Ryu. Still, you made the Top 20. I think only Riggs did better than you.

64/65, with almost the exact same score as last week. 82.506% vs 82.508%.
Still 1/2 for the year.

I guess I'm lucky to be in the top 20 considering I completely forgot to factor in the NCAA tourny. I overpredicted every single holdover. Taken really got hammered - what a variance in drops on that movie.

They haven't updated the yearly/monthly yet...

Well, at least I moved up one spot on the yearly chart (to number 8). Also, this RWood is probably the most all over the place predictor. He will dominate at one time, but the rest of the times, he will completely flop. There is no middle ground.

Unfortunately somehow I missed deadline. It was always up to 2 P.M. by my local time but now it's still more than hour left and the game is closed.

I'm curious - what is the deal with the deadline? I got in ok at about 8 pm Pacific. On the old server I believe Omni and Rumpel said they missed it, but if I'm not mistaken they tried to submit after midnight Pacific. I think only once have I tried to change mine after midnight Pacific, and it did work, and I was surprised.

The top 10 for this year is going to look weird, a predictor could get in with a sub 81% average.

I only started playing the derby two weeks ago. My average % for the two
weeks was 84.21%. Once I get enough games in, I could be a threat. I was
very optimistic this week on the big openers though, so we'll see.

1. Monsters Vs. Aliens 61.0
2. The Haunting in Connecticut 19.0
3. Knowing 13.7
4. I Love You, Man 13.3
5. Duplicity 8.7
6. Race to Witch Mountain 7.0
7. 12 Rounds 6.8
8. Taken 2.4
9. The Last House on the Left (2009) 2.3
10. Watchmen 2.1

Yep, we missed the deadline. So nice for them to change it without warning. I don't recall it ever closing that early since we started playing.

I based it off of Role Models rather than Forgetting Sarah Marshall. If it performs
like FSM, then I'll be off about 2M on that one.

Did Scott miss it as well? I notice he didn't post his predicts did he? And I know he usually submits his among the last group too.

midnight pacific has never been the actual deadline. You could submit your entry well into the morning hours like we've always done due to the timezone difference for us. So it was probably closed before we would have even began working on the weeks predicts, or right when we started. Not until this week anyway.

I don't know how you would know what the 'actual' deadline was, until the site actually said game closed. Sounds rather risky to me... :-k

Post Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
There was an actual deadline (or when the game closed), but it was never midnight pacific like almost famous (Juni) said above. For him it was 2PM, and he says it closed over an hour early on him. For me, it was I think either 5AM or 6AM, meaning 2AM or 3AM Pacific Time. Forget which of the two hours when it has closed in the past.

We weren't the only regulars to miss it either.

Omni and I missed it (ranked 1/2 for the year)
Juni78ukr missed it. (4th for the year)
Rumpel missed it. (7th for the year)
Paradigma (RUS) missed it.
Remus (RUS) missed it. (10th for the year)

Half the players in the Top 10 for 2009 missed the damn thing.

Many RUS players missed it, and so did Juni78ukr (I think he's almost famous on here) I'm assuming since he's an international player, like Omni too, and Omni and I always entered our entries way past midnight pacific time like the others have since it works best for us.

Forgive me if I misunderstand here, but RM, dropped 41% in its' second weekend. By that model ILYM would be at around 10.5 not 13.3m

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.
