Anybody that is doubting this project is going to be shocked when it's released and it kicks all kinds of ass. Alexandre Aja is directing, and for anyone who has had the privilege to see his film High Tensions already, they know that is he is one hell of a talent. Mark my words - this will be one of the best horror films of '05 or '06, whenever it's released.

This is one I'd welcome. The first one is not a film I enjoyed at all.

The casting breakdown for the Hills Have Eyes remake.
If Dimension doesn't totally rape this film like they normally do with their horror, I can't imagine this not ruling.
A couple of favorites:
BIG BRAIN: One of the hill people, confined to a wheelchair. His head is 10 times bigger than his faceâ€â€his head is so heavy that he is unable to hold it up, it rests back on his chair. His body is skeletal, his voice is weak and asthmatic. He is the character most representative of the damage the hill people have suffered from the nuclear fallout. He tells Doug of the fate of the hill people, of the disregard the government showed for their plight.
GOGGLE: One of the mutant hill people, so named because he keeps watch on the desert through a pair of binoculars. He has no faceâ€â€his eyes, nostrils, and mouth exist in a mass of flesh. His voice is rough and deep, his pronunciation is poor and we can’t understand everything he says.
LARGE WOMAN/THE OBESE WOMAN: One of the hill people, Ruby’s mother. As her name suggests, should be very overweight. She also takes care of the handicapped Big Brain. She sits in a rocking chair, holding a huge pig in her arms and petting it like a dog.
CYST: One of the mutant hill people. Enormous cysts disfigure him and cover every part of his body; a metallic brace is screwed on four sides of his head helping him stand straight. No dialogueâ€â€his character is muteâ€â€but much on-camera time.

BKB....
I'm assuming you've seen the original. What do you think of these descriptions of new characters in the remake?

I'm not sure what to think to be honest.. If DIMENSION is doing this film, then I don'tr have much hope for it.. Interestingly, I was at Borders Books tonight before heading off to work and was checking out the new issue of FANGORIA and they had an interview with Wes Craven and goes on to say how he had a really good Werewolf movie with CURSED until Dimension fucked it up and now he says he'd be surprised if the movie managed to be a hit after they butchered it with this goofy PG-13 Bullshit... The Werewolf itself looked good, kind of reminded me of The Howling in a sense of how those Werewolves looked, but PG-13 when it was filmed as a hard R Rating???
