Meh, Tarantino is really overrated.
Also going apeshit over Inglorious Bastards (don't give a shit how it's spelled) when its trailer obviously sucked is beyond me.
It's like Judd Apatow, people heap praise on him like he's God when his films are not always that good and certainly not cinematic or comedy gold each time.

If anything, Zack Snyder is a middle class version of Bob Zemeckis or even Ridley Scott. His first three features were a 1) Zombie film, 2) Sword and Sandal epic, and 3) Superhero Neo-noir.

Quentin Tarantino waited much longer to break out his stylized genre of choice. Tarantino would then be for some a low-rent version of Marty Scorsese. Snyder and Tarantino don't share much in common at all.

i'm talking in terms of talent. but still, Tarantino is able to tell a story and use many cinematic styles at the same time, without one crumbling the other.

and being compared to Ridley Scott is hardly anything to be proud of.

Those 3 Best Director nominations say otherwise. But yes, his output as of late has been crap.

Did Kenny like Watchmen Dino?

oh please don't throw oscar nominations when you feel like it, danny boyle.

kenny liked it, but agreed the director telling the story is incompetent.

Found it surprising to hear 99 Luftballons from german singer Nena in Watchmen. That got quite a reaction from the german crowd.

There's no denying the talent of Scott and in my example, Zemeckis. Oscar nominations are just one barometer. Scott's first 3 major films were all stylized genre jumps (Alien = horror, Blade Runner = neo-noir, Legend = fantasy), just like Snyder.

Back to your original post, I don't see the QT and Snyder comparisons beyond the fact that they're around the same age (45 and 43). Snyder is all about filmmaking technology and the scope of the story. QT is a classic auteur, the Written By credit he gets should be the first clue.

Wow, do you have any idea how obnoxious you're being? He tells people what to do? "Hey kettle your fucking black!" Your points are invalid and your logic unreasonable, you clearly just wanted to hate this film because other people like it so much, god forbid you should go with the fucking flow, when its' actually right. I can't comment on how the story flows being a fan of the GN, and having just read it the story flowed fine for me. But the 6 other people in my theater, most of whom aren't the brightest light bulbs in the box all understood it pretty clearly, and if you're considerably dumber than them I feel bad for you. Grow up and quite being such an asshole.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Talent isn't even comparable. You wouldn't have to worry about repeating statements if they only made sense Dino.

I already said the action sequences and the cinematography were great, the funeral sequence of the comedian was also done well. but to base that as a reason to call it a good movie, please give me a break.

no its socially inept fanboys like you that smell your own bullshit. talent is comparable when talking about Zack Snyder, who 2 movies in a row has brought nothing but shame to the cinema screen. he for one cannot tell a story and use stylised cinematic attributes at the same time.

anyone else find it funny that dino is calling people fanboys when the only reason he liked stuff like Australia and Dollhouse are for the exact same thing he's accusing people of.
