Uh, LOTR weren't nominated because of Jackson. They were nominated because they were LOTR and uber-event pictures with classy sources.

King Kong showed that he's far from an Oscar Golden Boy yet.

King Kong showed that even PJ has his limits.

Or that LOTR was a one(three)-time-only affair with the Academy.

Not to mention, PJ failed to get a nod for KK. If the Academy was obessed with him, I think he would have got a nod for sure.

There really is no reason IMO to believe that PJ is this Academy-darling outside of LOTR. Hell, I think there's actually a good chance he misses out on Lovley Bones (I'm starting to think that it will be this years Revolutionary Road).

Nah. Lovely Bones is way more well-known.

Stephen Daldry
Sam Mendes (again)
Neil Jordan
James Mangold

I think Daldry will be one of those with five noms and no wins or so.

Mendes is definitely possible, though. He sure as hell is trying, hehe.

Away We Go with John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph this year. Then an adaptation of The Preacher comic. I'd say he's given up.

Road To Perdition is probably the baitiest comic book film ever.

He'll be back.

Also, I'm not sure The Preacher will actually get off the ground.
