There's nothing wrong with removing your leg hair/shaving your legs. A lot more men do it nowadays, because they are realizing the insecure men who say it is "unmanly" are completely wrong. Many, many sports players remove their body hair, but a lot of regular men choose to shave their legs, or their chest, or their back, because they think it is disgusting or annoying, or useless, or look better without the hair. I know teenagers at my school who shave their legs. It's become a lot more common now. Friends may tease friends for shaving their legs, but nobody has ever been labelled less "manly", and it has never lasted. I find that a lot of those people want to shave their legs themselves, but feel insecure about it.
I personally don't mind the hair on my legs, but I would never hesitate to shave them if I ever wanted to. Body hair, other than hair on the head (who's purpose is to cushion/protect the head) is totally useless. Body hair is supposed to be used to trap warm heat released from the skin near the skin to keep the body warm in response to cold stress, but nowadays, that is meaningless (because of our development as humans and our technological development).
The excuse that "we are men and we're supposed to be hairy" is incredibly stupid. Guess what, folks? Women grow body hair as well, and that is a natural process, but they are forced to shave (most of them) because of the male society's demand. And probably a lot of women would rather not be hairy. But regardless, the point is, the "hairy is natural" crap is BS, because women shave too.
So, shaving isn't wrong, and you don't have to do it just for sports (unless your a professional, where the a split second counts, shaving for sports is meaningless. Most males say they shave for sports to cover the real truth that they simply want to shave because they hate the hair or prefer to be shaven). If you want to remove body hair, then do it. Plain and simple.
PEACE, Mike

If you do want to get rid of your hair i would recommend shaving it and NOT waxing it. I waxed my legs + armpits a few years back for charity and it FUCKING kills. I dont know how the ladies can stand it.

dolcevita wrote: Think about adult male beards...yes, now think about what happens if you've shaved for a couple years....yep, same thing. I know some people that don't mind shaving, but I know people who also regretted it deeply because it actually strengthens roots and makes hair grow back stronger, darker, and thicker. Anywho, look into better ways is all if you are considering this seriously.
I'm into cycling and when racing during a year, esp. from mid-to-late April until September, I shave my legs about every two-three weeks, most of the time before races (and it's for more practical reasons than just being vain... If you ever fell of a bike and had a 'road rash', you know what I'm talking about... ), so, I can tell you unless you shave your legs daily, the roots will never stiffen to such a degree as on man's face... Besides, the density of body hair outside of face is lot less (for 99% of folks)... Just my two pennies...

There is hair removing cream that you can use. It probably takes 5-10 minutes, but there's no pain and it's relatively easy. Some kinds are also supposed to inhibit hair from growing back as full, so the hair is less thick. Don't know if the last part actually works.

Do what makes you happy, but I wouldn't shave. I've had hairy legs since puberty hit (many moons ago!) and it's never been a problem for me.

I have hair growing out of the back of my thighs. Should I shave too or just walk in public with shorts and gross everyone out?

Backing down to a woman... *shakes head in disgust* You might as well just shave your legs and wear nylons.

I only shave my naughty bits. For the ladies. And the occasional Thai ladyboy.
Do legs get dingleberries?
Nevermind.

Metrosexuality is a long winded word for unsure and vain.
*waits for pelters for his close-minded assholeness*
Even if the first parts not true, the second part DEFINATELY is. Its pure and utter vanity glorified to be some sort of unique trait. I know that alot of my girl pals find Metrosexuality laughable and not attractive.

you could simply just trim the hair on your legs. that would please the children and satisfy those who want you to keep the damn hair.
i personally don't mind the hair on my legs, head, and armpits. All other MUST go. Once a week. :-$

Well it hurts the ladies but remember, when ya got hair as long as ours already in place, at that stage, IT HURTS!! It freaking hurts!! How do I know?? because i got tape stuck on my legs once (practical joke in front of everyone cause i was the only one who would always wear shorts to a dinner). Needless to say, it took me 2 hours to gather up the courage to pull it off.
When you wax regularly, it hurts but hurts much less than what you experienced..
funny and true stories. One of my cousins started veeeery late in her life (waxing). I always used to help my sister with it (we didn't have the easy wax slips and shit the way you have here). So when it came time for my cousin, my sister was doing it for her and i was called in to assist. I had nail marks on my arms for 3 weeks after that day.
True story.
