 Should I shave my legs?
My legs are hairy.
I've told my friends constantly, that I want to shave my legs, so when I wear shorts, children wont have to run away, but they always say "Men Dont shave their legs! !!!"....
...but proper men don't have HAIRY legs!
So I dont know, just a random question, Should I shave my legs?...and dont say that its my choice...i want YOUR opinion...
Do you shave your legs? What shouldn't I shave? :afro:

I know lots of guys who shave their legs and it's not a big deal to them. Until the hairs start growing in and they freak out at the massive itch factor.

Nope. But that's because you should wax them. I'm not joking. If you're that worried about hair, and everyone has their points of insecurities (I have extra in fact if anyone is looking for a hand-out), then go for it, but don't shave. Think about adult male beards...yes, now think about what happens if you've shaved for a couple years....yep, same thing. I know some people that don't mind shaving, but I know people who also regretted it deeply because it actually strengthens roots and makes hair grow back stronger, darker, and thicker. Anywho, look into better ways is all if you are considering this seriously. Me? I would do it if I was too worried, but you're talking to someone who has already done some pretty intense stuff so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

Well, I was going to make a joke that you shouldn't shave them, you should wax them, but dolce ruined that for me, didn't she? #-o
Ryan, don't start shaving your legs. That's a girl thing. Don't shave your legs, and don't start wearing nylons either. [-X

You should shave your legs if you are one of the following:
a) incredibly vain.
b) a swimmer.
c) a professional body builder.
You should NOT shave your legs if your reasons for doing so are because:
a) proper men don't have hairy legs.
b) children are running away from you.
The amount of hair on your legs has nothing to do with your degree of manliness. There are a number of reasons children might be running away from you. If you have a face like the elephant man's, for example, then no amount of leg shaving will help your situation.

Is everyone here on crack? Depilation, cosmetics, hair style, and gender have enjoyed some of the most ambiguous relationships in history. What would Ben Franklin and George Washington think if we said wearing wigs was girlie?
Ryan, what makes a real man is his personality, anyone thinking that its cause they have some hair on their legs has another thing coming to them. Do what you like, if you don't feel comfortable go for it, I know alot of people that do. You all gents here mean to tell me that if you had hairy backs you wouldn't maybe lose confidence over it? If you removed that hair I wouldn't think you any less the gents, so why is leg hair any different than back hair, shaving, or any other hair? contructions of gender having to do with physical grooming change everyday regardless, so don't listen to them Ryan. Do what you want and if you're worried that people don't think you're man enough, prove it to them in other ways, like your character.

Ryan, I promise I wouldn't steer you wrong. Don't shave your legs. Be yourself, and others will like you for that alone. If you live your life trying to make yourself into the image that you feel others want you to have, you are doing your character a disservice. Shaving legs is not a manly thing to do. Take it from a man. I dressed as a woman for Halloween some years back, and I even won first prize. (200 bucks) I refused to shave my legs, and just wore 2 pairs of black nylons. (I know I told you not to wear those, but money talks...) If you only knew the glee that women take in feminizing guys, you would understand why the girls in this thread are encouraging you to have silky smooth legs. Next, they'll be trying to talk you into getting a pedicure.

Nah, women are not invested in "feminizing" anyone, so I don't appreciate the comment. I don't know him, why would I have any investment in gender bending someone I don't know? I could just as easily say the men in this thread are so insecure with the last bastion of masculinity (physical) that you all are telling him to remain uncomfortable with himself just because you're interested in maintaining the archaic habits that don't challenge your own identity.
The one thing I am actually trying to do is provide some insight about confidence and physical identity, which I think is a much bigger deal. If someone is seriously uncomfotable with an aspect of themselves and wants to change it, and everyone is yelling pansy sissy girlie whatever, then all you're stuck with is someone who may genuinely feel unhappy about a physical characteristic of himself, and now feels even worse because people have been berating him and suggesting his personal identity is connected to it even for contemplating such things. Me? I just think he should do what the hell he likes if it makes him wake up in the morning, step outside, and feel good. But realize it could just be a quick fix. Ryan, if you're having doubts about alot of things, targetting one aspect may not make you feel all that much better about yourself. If it really is just this one thing that's bothering you, and otherwise you're happy with yourself, then go right ahead.
Hey, I already said I went through alot of similar problems with people that accused me of being fake, unnatural, and an entire slew of other deprecatory comments that had more to do with the person dishing them out than it had to do with me when I went through an operation to change myself. I'm still very happy I did it, and have felt much better about it since. Do what will make you more confident, just think in the long term sense of happiness and not instant gratification. If you still want to do it, go ahead.

If you don't like body hair on yourself, shaving and being comfortable with it is a lot more manly than being a wussy, and not shaving it for fear of being labeled any less masculine.
If oyu odn't mind the hair though, do what you want...
Edit: By shaving, I mean...not shaving  but some form of body hair removal. Don't shave.
