Why,,I'll tell ya,,The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Did they need that remake? No. Was it good? Yes. Better than the original? Different time, different place, different feel......Hollywood isnt going to stop with the remakes. With some of these classics I'm hoping they put in the effort. I'll keep an open mind.
Whats so great about it? Everything about it was generic and done to death, there was nothing special about that movie. It wasnt scary at all either, granted the original isnt scary either ( back at the time it probably was though )
What was special about it was a Graphic look at Demonic Posession and the fact that The EXORCIST was based on a true story about an Exorcism of a boy that just happens to of occur in my hometown of St.Louis at a Hospital called Alexian Bros back in the 60's I believe.. Also the fact that back in 1973 when this came out, the audience back then had never been exposed to this sort of thing like it is today with a horror movie coming out every 2 weeks... Once again, I chalk it up to a Generational thing again and that teens today have been exposed to more violence in these horror movies then back then, so naturally there not gonna think much of The EXORCIST.. I'll tell ya, the Book The EXORCIST was alot more violent and graphic then the movie was as most books are since you can be more descriptive.. As for redoing this movie??? Fuck this..

I'm not disputing the fact that an exorcism occurred at St. Louis, but I'm almost pretty sure William Peter Blatty based both the book and the movie of The Exorcist on an exorcism that happened in Georgetown (near DC), where the movie is also set.
