Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 5
I'm happy Lost has expanded the cast. If there's one thing it needed, it was more storylines.

When they skip to the year 2285, will Charles Widmore XXXV be on the island?

As usual, I am intensely confused. But cool episode!
Poor Charlotte. I hope she doesn't drop dead right after Farraday declares his love for her.
Sawyer and Juliet are going to make out soon. Calling it.

Aww, I like the ginger. Her and Farraday are such a kyoot couple.
And I think it's been obvious since the first LAWST season 5 commercials came out showing Sawyer and Juliet together looking at each other longingly that they were going to get together.

I love the episode. It was a nice touch having Desmond name his son Charley. I am afraid that bomb will come back to haunt everyone later in the show.

Still the only TV show I bother with, a decision I do not regret. Last night's episode was wonderful, and yes, the absence of the Oceanic 6 played a big part in that.

I think the series will end with the bomb blowing the island to shit. Great episode. Anytime there's a lot of Desmond, Penny, Juliet, Faraday, Sawyer and no Jack, Kate, Ben or Hurley, it's an especially good ep.

Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 5
Another great episode last night. I loved the the reveal of the young Charles Widmore being on the island. I think my three favorite characters now are : Desmond, Faraday, and Richard. And this episode had a lot of them so it was great!
I wonder how Faraday knows that young girl on the island?

Also, I think the Desmond centric episodes are usually the best, of course he is my favorite character on the show.

Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 5
Same sentiments here. I am SO confused right now. Every time I try to follow the time travel storylines to make sense of them I just get confused. They have really spent the break between season 4 and 5 INTRICATELY planning the rest of the mythology out. And I am LOVING IT!!! I have never been so pleased to be so baffled. And I too think alot of what made it great was the lack of the Oceanic Six. They just drag the show down. No one cares about them. The islanders can take care of themselves. And if they can't, Desmond will rescue them! I hope Charlotte doesn't die. She still has alot of explaining to do as to why she's there. You can so tell they spent the entire break figuring out how to bump up Faraday into the whole mythology. Don't blame them; he's an awesome character. Charles Widmore on the island/is an other Desmond naming his child Charlie deserves the longest "awwwwwwwww" so far this year in TV.

What an awesome episode, and we're getting some answers, and I see I'm not the only one that didnt miss the Oceanic 6.

Raffiki wrote: Charles Widmore on the island/is an other This episode got me thinking about old Charles. Maybe what's motivating him is that he wanted to be the leader of the Others and they exiled him from the island. That would explain a hell of a lot I think.

Do you guys think the 108 minute button pushing Desmond and Locke did for so long was to keep the bomb from going off?

Faraday's mother's name is Eloise "Ellie" is a variant of "Eloise". Widmore is an "Other". Widmore knows the location of Eloise, and shows much interest. It's likely that Ellie is Daniel's Mother.

Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 5
The poor Oceanic survivors. Quote: Ellie states that there were only 20 people at the beach camp before the attack. Subtracting the eight known casualties in "The Lie" and the two redshirts killed by the claymore mines, there are now at most only 10 beach camp residents alive on the island, including Sawyer, Juliet, Daniel, Charlotte, and Miles. so Rose and Bernard and 3 more. Including the 7 folks who are not on the island (O6 + Walt), Locke (who was not at the beach) and assuming that Claire and Jin are still alive, and assuming that we're not counting those captured by the Others that means there is only... 16 people left of the 71 that came down on either section of the plane are alive.15 if Aaron doesn't count against the 48 survivors of the fuselage.

Re: The "Lost" Thread: Season 5
Oh my. After the lame shit that were the first two season, this was the best episode since the brilliant season 3. This might mean that my enjoyment of the series could continue as uneven seasons were awesome and even seasons were horrid IMO.

Which makes a small possibility of Widmore being Faraday's dad.....! (Both younger Ellie and young Widmore had very feisty personalities which might make them a match)
