Yay, Chris! It is a terrific film, isn't it? Although it's looking like a tie from the poll, which is just a perfect example of how these polls are not anything to believe in as accurate, here is the true count thus far.

How is it that M$B has 14 votes in the thread and only 10 in the poll?
Anyways, it's obviously the leader \:D/
Great for all other films as well. In general, I think this has been a great Best Pic nominee list.

It would have eleven, but I switched mine. I'm guessing some people did the same, or haven't vote in the poll, but just replied with their choice.

Yes, 1 or 2 of them changed their mind after the voted but not 4 of them, and I have no idea where all of those votes for the Aviator came from, because only a few of them changed their votes. The others aren't saying, or else some of the M$B voters accidentally voted for the wrong movie.
M$B is the favorite of the forum, so we'll either be very happy (which I think we will be) , or there will be plenty of people to cry to if it doesn't win.

I saw The Aviator first, and it blew me away with the performances and the look, then I saw Million Dollar Baby, and it blew me away with the performances and the dialog. Two great films that I don't have any problem re-watching them multiple times. In the end, I did rank The Aviator just slightly ahead (after debating a couple of days), and considering it has suddenly become the underdog, I'm giving it my support.

I don't think MikeQ. changed his vote to Finding Neverland, he still has The Aviator ranked higher on his top ten list.
The Aviator is now ahead of Million Dollar Baby in the forum poll, so it is "officialy"l the favorite of the forum. While MDB has a lot of (repetitive) vocal love, The Aviator has a lot of quiet supporters.
According to DP07's multipliers thread in the box office forum, The Aviator has the best legs of all the 2004 films, and its run is still far from over. For a movie already in wide release (not just expanding like MDB), it had the most impressive post-Oscar announcement box office bump of any Oscar movie in the last couple of years. It is clearly the frontrunner any way you look at it.
I am still rooting for Million Dollar Baby though.

Dolce has M$B higher on her list, but isn't rooting for it. I took it from Mike's comments, that "Neverland is probably the most meaningful film to me this year so far." , that he changed his opinion. Can you clear that up Mike?
The forum poll isn't accurate, as some voted for Aviator , and then changed their vote. M$B has the lead with 14 people cheering for it. The voting is being counted in the first thread manually.

Let me make this clear.
I think The Aviator will win, I'm 90% sure it will win.
But I would love for Million to win. I'm "rooting" for it.

Oops, sorry for the confusion, Mav. I'm definately still rooting for The Aviator, because it is the highest on my list and thus I think it's the best in terms of filmmaking. Finding Neverland is more like love for it's great story. I would give Finding Neverland Best Screenplay over any film.
Thanks!
PEACE, Mike

Unfortunately the only two I have seen so far are Aviator and Neverland, both of which are worthy candidates, and both of which I would have no problem winning.
I am kind of rooting for Aviator because I admit -- I like Oscar winners to be movies that will stand the test of time, and I think Aviator is one of those films. I think people will still be watching that one long after the other ones have faded. None of them will ever fade completely from what I can see -- they all look good -- but 40 years from now, which one do you think has the greatest chance of being seen on the late night movie channels?

Out of the three I have seen (Ray, The Aviator, Sideways), I am definitely rooting for Sideways, so sign me up for that

At this time, I would like to congratulate those who had the guts to speak up, and let it be known that they were in support of Million Dollar Baby Winning Best Picture! Congratulations, it was a great night at the Oscars!

Now wait a minute Mav.. So what, if some of us didn't support the much overrated MDB, then we didn't have guts?? What the fuck?? Who cares?? It boils down to matter of opinion and has nothing to do with having guts..

You haven't even seen M$B, so you don't know if it's overrated or not. [-X
Not everybody had the guts to put their necks on the line and say they were rooting for it. Some didn't think it would win, and didn't want to set themselves up for getting teased if it didn't. The names that did support it are deserving of a pat on the back from you too. \:D/

Seriously, why would folks get teased if they thought MDB wasn't the one to win BEST PICTURE??? It's strictly a matter of opinion... I didn't think it would win and if anything, the vote should've been spilt with Scorcese who's taken it in the ass for the 5th time now from the Academy...
