Will Slumdog Millionaire sweep the main guilds?
Like NCFOM did?
I definitely see it winning DGA and WGA. PGA is very likely...ironically enough The Dark Knight is the only one that has a chance to upset it there, in my opinion.
SAG Ensemble is the shakiest one. I think Milk clearly has the upper hand there.
It will also win ACE.

A PGA TDK win would be hilarious.

DGA: Danny Boyle PGA: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button SAG: Milk or Frost/Nixon ...would be great.

I'm not 100% convinced that Slumdog is a sure-thing yet in the guilds or in Oscar.
95%.

I don't see Slumdog matching up for Boyle the same way No Country did for The Coens or Departed for Scorsese. Call me crazy.

Good....because I don't want him to win. In fact I thought the acting was better than his direction, but then look how many actors got nominated. Boyle sucks.

You liked Slumdog more than Benjamin B? I know you didn't like Mr. Buttons, but come on Slumdog?

I think its a well-made film, pretty to look at, a certain energy to it all, though it does have some issues (the bathtub scene for starters). Solid effort though largely forgettable. What I can't call it is the Best film of 2008, the best film of Danny Boyle's career, or even the best of the 5 BP nominees.

I guess I'll give it a shot, I mean besides the Reader I do want to see all of the best picture nominations.

You guys were way too optimistic about everything. This has been over for a month and a half.

There's still this tiny part of me which wants to believe in a "Benjamin Button" upset, but I know it's over. Raffiki said it: Quote: Slumdog Millionaire. Best Picture. Signed and sealed. Locked and loaded. whatever you like... it's done.

yoshue wrote: You guys were way too optimistic about everything. This has been over for a month and a half. Yeah... just about. I think it's been the front-runner from early-mid December but I mean, now... they might as well start having the metal titles (or whatever they are) made for the "2008" slot at the Kodak Theater.

Re: Will Slumdog Millionaire sweep the main guilds?
I can't believe the ACTORS went for it. "Slumdog" is a delightful movie, but, c'mon! An acting showcase? No, no, no, and no way.
The fact it won the top SAG award just proves the "Slumdog" bullet train is truly unstoppable.

They don't even have to leave the trophies blank and give them back for engraving. Just engrave Slumdog on the bottom already.
