Once everything settles, I think snack will make peace with The Reader and the amusing fanboy rage its been inspiring for an hour now.

My family put me on one. It's a very trying time for all of us.

I'm seeing The Reader at 4 today. That's pretty much the only thing keeping my head out the oven right now.

Or at least go into it thinking that if there was one film that shouldn't have been nominated, it was Button. Remember, it's not Reader's FAULT that TDK/Wall-E wasn't nominated

But everything I've read about The Reader makes it seem like the most pedestrian trite possible, the anti-Best Picture if you will.

Re: snack, Anton, loyal and munk
Honestly loyal, I was really excited by the ideas in the second 1/3 of The Reader. There's a lot in there about the German guilt complex and the relationship between finding "responsibility" that I found fascinating.
It at least got me thinking, which is more than I can say about Button, which was much more sentimental. Nixon hit me in my brain and Slumdog got me with it's passion and vibrancy.

I've been reading the Reader for a week now, and done with the half of it. I really have to read the whole book today.
