There's been a bit of debate about whether the seven deadlies are really sinful. For what it's worth, if I had to nominate my own seven deadly sins, they'd be:

Lying when it matters.

Stealing when you aren't starving.

Cheating.

Bullying.

Being boring.

Letting sentiment cloud your judgement to the extent where you do bad things and actually think you're doing good.

Being attracted to bad or stupid people because they're good looking.

The last one is the most severe.

I 'm sure Jessica Beal is a boring sad bad person but..............................I can't look away.

You're right. I'm going to change "stupid" to "malicious". People can't help being stupid. Stupid people need love too.

I think lying is lying, although, yes, worse when important.

Like KJers trying to get everyone to believe unsubstantiated things?

I'd say accusing people of stuff without planning to give them a fair chance.

But then we can all think differently of what's bad or good. I've never seen a case where it didn't involve choosing truth or not on some level (intellectual, factual, philosophical etc).

Same problem in judging. But all things equal I always like beautiful women. ;)

There's that and people trying to learn. I think I can get annoyed at people not trying to be most truthful on some topic (at least of they are making claims).

But then that has more to do with being honest with yourself.

Really... pride???

"Hubris" would probably be a better word to use here.

Not as eye catching, plus they are suppose to make you feel all guilty and horrible Hubris makes me want some bread.

True.

Then again, this is a Christian list, isn't it? Christians want everyone to be humble and never question authority, so perhaps "pride" is appropriate.

Yeah, looking at Wiki hubris is more directed at other people. Pride can be great as a way to create something or in relation to inspiration or aspirations. If there are things worth creating and they deserve dedication and attention, then shouldn't you be proud of them and the abilities you have to invest in them?

I don't know how to reduce this to one word, but probably the biggest sin is "lack of empathy". The Golden Rule, if you will. The inability to understand or care for another person's view or condition, the inability to "treat others as you would want to be treated." It's the core of all prejudice, and quite often the cause of war ("It's OK to kill them because they are different -- they worship a different god and speak a different language and look different")
