If I was Albanian I would be considerably offended by this movie. But this was a good revenge thriller. Action packed despite the slow start. Highly recommended.

One of the best action films of the year, Liam Neeson's acting is incredible but the best thing about this movie is that they don't give any kind of superpowers to the main character and he doesn't try to be one because the only thing he wants is to recover his daughter.
Highly recommended.

This is easily my most anticipated movie of the next few months. After playing the villain in Batman Begins, i couldn't wait to see him play another kickass role. Plus that voice...

 Re: Taken
I shall steal arsi's view.
What an ungrateful daughter, 80 people killed to save her and she didn't even ask about what happened to her friend!!
My own view, it was quite an excellent revenge thriller.

 Re: Taken
I haven't seen this movie, but, I wouldn't give a shit about my friends either, if I'd just been kidnapped. Fuck them. Their own fathers can kill eighty people to save them.

It was a bit weird to see a 25-year old actress play 16-year old girl who acts like a 9-year old.
Other than that, pretty great movie.

Looking forward to this from the trailer, liking LM and these good reviews.
I am guessing this is more violent but did anyone see frantic with harrison ford. Seems similar.

Lots of fun, solid action. I really liked it, which I wasn't expecting at all from the fucking horrible trailers. Lil' too many "yeah right" things in it tho.

 Re: Taken
Liam Neeson is the fucking man! He is like a ultra bad-ass version of Jack Bauer. This movie starts fast and doesn't slow down as we get to see Neeson just pick apart bad guy after bad guy. One of the most entertaining movies I can remember.

 Re: Taken
My AIM discussion with Gulli concerning this film.(Me): I saw Taken. (Me): What was WITH that girl?! (Me): She was running everywhere. (Me): Every single time. (Gulli): she had the brain of a 5 year old (Me): Only 11 year old girls should be running in restaurants and airports. (Gulli): Nebs review summed it up best (Gulli): a 25 year old actress playing a 16 year old girl who acted like a 9 year old (Gulli): otherwise its a good film (Me): I just kept lol'ing as she kept running EVERYWHERE. (Me): To greet her father. To get to the pony. To get to him in the restaurant. To get away from him in the restaurant. When he showed up with the signed papers she went running to get her mom. Then at the airport, she went running to meet her friend. (Gulli): haha (Gulli): i forgave it thou because she was hot (Gulli): but (Gulli): the singer bit (Gulli): who wants to kill a singer? (Gulli): and the crows was nuts (Me): I know, that part was a little, wat? (Gulli): crowd (Me): I don't think a singer assassination like that has happened in like decades. (Me): Just some dewd with a knife going after a pop singer? No. (Gulli): also it was funny neeson looking for his duaghter and fuck all the other imprisoned girls (Gulli): checks (Gulli): not her (Gulli): moves on (Me): lol, yes. (Gulli): its the 100M final it looks like carl lewis about to win but no wait the Taken girl on the inside she is running to a new pony and the taken girl wins! (Me): lololol out of

 Re: Taken
Apart from the director having noticeable difficulty holding the tone of the action at a consistent pitch (it went from pleasantly cartoony to gut twistingly intense, which is all good, except the transitions were too darn choppy) - - this was a rip-snortin' good flick! Liam Neeson... ...need I say more? We've all seen how super intense that dude can get. Rob Roy, anyone? How about Love, Actually? Way back in Excalibur? Darkman?!? Ring a bell? ... ... ... Yeah, that Liam Neeson. The story was enjoyably twisty and turny, and the caricatures made of all the other actors, belies the fact that the director was ultimately shooting at a heightened slapstickish effect, but chickened out when he pulled the trigger, hitting just off bullseye, but still well within the target. So the translation of the above is this: I heartily recommend it, but it ain't no Crank...

 Re: Taken
Great mindless action flick. I refuse to sit around and poke holes in it's plot because, well, a movie like this doesn't have to tie off all the loose ends so long as it's a great ride.
This was a fucking fantastic ride.

A very Entertaining popcorn flick. Worth the price of a ticket even though I did spend 9$ one day and 12$ the next. I don't know if it's worth 12$ but 9$ for sure.

 Re: Taken
This was a great movie. Solid A.
And agreed with people how the daughter acted like a fucking kid. I wanted to shoot her brains out. She literally ran like a mentally retarded kid and her stupid fashion sense was horrible.
But either than that bitch, the movie was fantasmic.
And Crank was not better, Crank wasn't made very well.

 Re: Taken
Liam Neeson gets serious shit for killing 3 people at the beginning in France and then no one cares when he kills dozens of people after that. He destroys half of the country but only one police guy is after him? really??? And then he just walks away scot free. This illogic and lack of reason isn't surprising at all, what's surprising is how little it detracts from the film. Despite the movies ridiculous story it is a slick, fast-paced, ridiculous and intense thriller. B+
