11 and 4 for me. Looking good for both openers.

Being a sequel, Sisterhood 2 should have a lower Wed-to-weekend multiplier than the original, so I'd say $15m for the weekend and $22m for 5 days. $27m and $44m for Pineapple. I think MTC's tracking looks really good at the moment.

I think PE can actually hold up pretty well on Thursday. It's not a franchise film and WOM is good. The original Pirates might even be a good comparison.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Pineapple Express, Sisterhood 2
Yeah, look like younger female oriented movies no longer have bigger ratios comparing to others as they used to be.
Also look like 150 is really the upper bound for ratio now and reserved for massively fanbase-driven films or Michael Moore productions.

It's true that it's helped by movies like Superbad; it must help to have them talk about it in interviews and such. But even if it is a franchise in a sense, I don't think it is like a frontloaded sequel. Will Smith has more of a fanbase if anything, but his movies don't necessarily act like sequels; it depends on the genre. Hancock had a great 2nd week hold for an action movie, Hitch was leggy even for a romantic comedy, and of course there was the Pursuit of Happyness. The legs for PIXAR movies are usually like those of other big animated films.

And there really wouldn't be a ratio we could predict.
It would be like keeping track of Sunday.

It would be like keeping track of Sunday. Okay, I just seem to remember in the past with Wednesday openers that we kept track on Friday too. But I guess that was because there were also Friday openers.

I believe yeah, we did that.
I can't remember how accurate they were though.
Like if you look at the first page of this thread it has ratios for a few films Wednesdays and Fridays.
Maybe we're just lazy today?

Tropic Thunder 493 (72), +101 (+24), B+ I'd say around 8.

No idea. If anything, I'd probably guess a 70-80 ratio... But what the hell do I know?!

Tropic Thunder 658 (114), +74 (+19), B+ I used 825 above, but... I don't think it'll get there. mid 700's or so would give it about 7.5M.

$8 mil is more than enough to beat PE's weekend.

8M might be the high, high end. It had a nice pace during the middle of the night, but just for a few hours.
