I wonder why the hell we have to predict again silly Chihuahua with 788 theaters when it will make at very best only 700k.

I guess they think the Disney helps Disney phenom that others here have noted will be full force. Saw can't beat BHC due to theater drop and Soul Men is also plummeting in theaters, but I don't know yet how likely Soul Men is to drop that much and BHC to be helped that much. I'd have thought BHC would be hurt enough by Bolt to cancel the Disney aid phenom. HSM3 hurt it....

Slumdog Millionaire would've been a good candidate for such a weekend.

Chihuahua turned out to be a derby killer after all. As far as I remember it's the lowest ranking movie in the derby since Vince Vaughn's Gigantic Title Movie. There wasn't a single non-zero score for that one.

Damn - I envy anyone who called BHC 100%. I barely avoided a 0. Lousy little mutt, single-handedly making or breaking the game. Apox on BOM.

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Thanks! Certainly had been a tough stretch, with missing games and low scores. Turned out didn't need to risk that 0.1 on BHC, but happy that my feeling on how much the new openers would hurt Medagascar 2, HSM3, and BHC was finally on the mark.

Apparently I'm an idiot because I predicted 3.4 for HSM... Totally blew up my score.

How the hell we were supposed to know that? Actually per show average increases nearly twice from 96 to 180 dollar. Anyway, congratulations to Xia, Omni/Corpse. It was definitely a wrong week for making risky experiments and checking silly theories.

What a comeback, Xia. 5% ahead of the crowd. That must be some kind of record. Surprised I ended up almost in the top 20. The openers saved me big time

Congrats to xiayun on another comeback victory.
Also, @ Levy. I once had a 5.71% gap between me and the second place winner (on the Ige Age 2 weekend).

 Re: Derby Game Discussion Thread
Xia's victory is the 11th highest relative-to-average win of all time, and the 2nd highest this year, after the OmniCorpse victory where Tropic Thunder won its 3rd weekend (which was the 7th highest of all time). While I'm at it, Xiayun is also now tied for 4th with Bill Delahanty for the the most Derby wins with 7, after Brandon Gray (12), Ragnarok (10), and Scottie (9). These players account for one fifth of all wins.
