 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
I think ABC will renew it just because of the award attention the show gets. It earned them 12 Emmy nominations and won three of them. IMO they will wait until Golden Globes to see if the show still has the critic support. If it again gets nods for best comedy, best actor and best actress ABC will renew it just for the sake of the awards. This year ABC has no new show like previous years that managed to get attention from the critics.

Has CBS picked up 11th Hour for a full season yet?

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
ABC has effectively canceled three shows: Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money. http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/11/abc-no-pickups.htmlQuote: ABC has decided against picking up "Pushing Daisies," "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Eli Stone" for full-season orders.
Producers of the shows were told that ABC has decided not to order more hours beyond their original 13-episode commitments.
Actively avoiding the c-word, the network left the door open for ordering episodes at a future date, though that is considered improbable. All three shows are still on the schedule for next week, so perhaps the network is leaving some room for the unexpected should ratings abruptly rise.
"Money" and "Stone" are still in production (on their 12th and 13th episode, respectively) and will finish shooting their original order.
"Daisies" and "Money" hit series-low ratings Wednesday night, and "Stone" sank to match a series low on Tuesday despite an improved lead-in. All three fell beneath a 2.0 rating in the adult demo this week. ABC needs to get away from the quirky, overly soap-opera ways of the bulk of their shows. Sure, it worked with Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy but it hasn't worked in a few seasons now. Maybe trying a CBS strategy would stabilize ratings.

ABC is by far THE BEST network right now in terms of programming. Taking a page from CBS and going with a lame case-of-the-week kind of show would be a step down for them. Anyways, very, very sad news All three are fantastic series. I hope ABC comes to their senses with at least Daisies if anything.

Wentworth Miller has confirmed that this season of Prison Break is the last and if they were doing a fifth, it would just be a money grab that he does not want to be involved in. I can't find the link at the moment however.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
ABC is headed into limbo for the next few years unless they get some fresh hits. They don't even need big ones. If they manage to come up with a slew of shows averaging 12-14 million viewers a week, that's as good as gold nowadays.
Lost finishes its run next season and Housewives finishes its run the season after. Grey's is fading slowly.

Have never watched NCIS, Cold Case or much of any of the CSIs. ABC's shows are all too precious and quirky for quirky's sake. People don't like them, obviously. CBS has the best comedy as well with The Big Bang Theory. ABC needs to establish a relationship with Bruckheimer, ASAP. Pretty much every show he produces does well.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
ABC really does need new hits. Other than DWTS, their three flagship shows premiered in the 2004-2005 season and aren't going to be on the air that much longer.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
Networks always go through these periods. CBS will eventually fizzle out too and start churning out duds (not quality duds, as they're doing that already, but ratings duds too) and watch their established hits take nosedives. NBC will eventually become a big network again. ABC will go up again. FOX will... well, they'll depend on American Idol for an eternity.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
With Eli Stone and Boston Legal now coming to an end, it looks like the only thing I'm going to be watching on ABC anytime soon is Scrubs. Hopefully they were prepared and have some sort of ending in mind for Eli Stone. It wasn't the best show on TV, but it was good enough to keep me interested.

At least ABC has some original programming. I'd hate for them to become like CBS. We don't need any more freakin' crime shows. Sure they do well, but I'll take something original any day over more crime and reality shows. Yawn.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
Doesn't ABC have a few new dramas starting in March? hopefully, one of those is a hit.
like i said in the ABC Midseason thread, Border Security could become a runaway hit like it has been in Australia since it first aired. and the sad thing is, if it becomes a hit there will be more docu-dramas coming to primetime, which is what happened here.

Like Airport Security (Kiwi ripoff) and Crash scene investigation etc
Border Security was good to begin with but got old quick as each show is basically a copy of the one before.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
All the networks need a few big or iconic shows to start soon or else there wont be much left. The golden days of network tv are certainly over.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
No one watched any them except me but The CW canned their entire Sunday night lineup of In Harm's Way, Valentine, and Easy Money. Replacing them will be repeats of The Drew Carey Show, Everybody Hates Chris, and the show that just won't die, Jericho. I know a bunch of people who still have hope of someone bringing the show back (again), at least for a two hour movie. The CW should go with the brilliant but canceled vibe of Jericho and air Moonlight repeats alongside it.

 Re: Renewed/Canceled 2008-2009
I watched Valentine. It had its weaknesses but it was watchable. I don't understand why CW didn't air all new episodes of those shows for these past few weeks. They aired reruns and didn't even try to give the shows some room to develop viewers. It was dumb. But that's CW.

How come Shark was cancelled actually? I didn't even realize that up until a month ago or so. I mean it was pulling in pretty solid ratings, wasn't it?
