Interesting stats. I was wondering if you'd get a significantly different result if you used the average relative-to median score instead of the mean score.

I don't think it would make too much difference, mostly because each game has a fairly equal distribution of scores (since each game is played by mostly the same players and same distribution of skills). No one can get over 100 or under 0 (of course), and you've always got a handful under 20 or so, but not ever variable enough to really skew the curve much. Not a bad thought though.

You're sure, you're still ahead of me for the month?

Surprised the score was enough for #6. Good week for KJ again, congrats to everyone. I just realized Xiayun did miss last week's game. That's a bummer...

Yeah, somehow I completely forgot about it Thursday night. No technical reason at all this time.

Congrats everyone! What a dominating month by KJ.

Congrats to Juni, Ryu, and asalem for the Top 20. Not a strong week for KJ, well, when it comes to the rankings this week anyway, all the score are nice.

Trivia: the biggest rel-to-ave score in derby history belongs to Brandon Gray, who got a 78.7% against a 44.3% average (1.777) for the game of 12/6/02.

That game was also by a large margin the lowest average score in derby hist, beating the 49.1 of 12/14/07. There were just 5 games where the average was in the 50's, 84 in the 60's, 208 in the 70's, and 45 in the 80's, the top being 85.6 on 8/5/05.

Heh - that'd be fun, and it seems like they could use some help.

I'll try not to post these charts here too often, but it seems like people should get credit where credit is due.

The charts are neat. MORE! Haha. No, really, I really think most here, the derby players at least, enjoy them very much. The more stats the better. And the people with 300+ games, 100 seems like it's taking forever, can't imagine 200, 300 games.

Congrats to Levy on his win for this week, and for the month of October.

This weeks game is dominated by KJ'ers, maybe one of us should take that job at the LA Times.
