Post Re: Grade The Last Movie You Watched
Alexandre Aja's "Mirrors"

I love High Tension and The Hills Have Eyes even more, so I was pretty excited about this movie. It had its tense, frightening moments, and some gore from Aja that is always unique and creative.

However, all the scares seemed to be in the first half of the film, and the last half kind of fell apart a little. The explaination of all the supernatural events is way under developed and poorly written. There is alot of unnecessary things in the movie. For example, the main character has a daughter. But she is such a flat character and is rarely ever heard, so you might forget about her.

All in all, it was a decent horror movie. A good first hour, but it dies down. But the resolution of the movie made up for a little bit of the middle. 6.5/10

Yes, I love it. I find myself watching it at least once every few months.

Man with a Movie Camera (1929):

I'm battling between a 9 and a 10. This is really one of the best cinematic experiences I have ever had. Another film I never grow tired of. I'll go with a perfect rating I think, even though the score on this DVD was somewhat different from the VHS copy I first saw of this movie in college. Nonetheless, I'll give it a 10/10.

Burn After Reading - 7.5/10

A great satire and definitely hilarious. But there were some major problems I had with it.

The Shining - 9.5/10

One of the greatest horror films ever made. One of my favorite Jack Nicholson roles, such a great transformation of his character. And, above all, my second favorite Kubrick film
