 Meet the Spartans
Meet the Spartans Quote: Meet The Spartans is a 2008 parody film directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. Similar to past movies, such as Scary Movie, Date Movie, and most recently Epic Movie, it directs parodies at various films. Although it references many movies, TV shows, people and pop cultural events, it focuses mainly on the 2007 film 300. It opened #1 in the US box office, despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews.

Now, this is supposed to target the 13 year-olds (of all ages) yet 300 is a hard R movie. I don't understand it.

I might actually see this when it comes here
I get the feeling this is close to THE worst movie ever made, and I just want to be a part of history. I want to taste what it's like to reach the ultimate low in a movie.

This is hands down without a doubt the WORST film ever made. Shame on you America for making this piece of shit the #1 movie. We truly do live in the dumbest country on the planet, welcome to the new dark ages. Grade Whats lower than an F May the producers cast and crew of this horrible insult to humanity die of dysentary while being slowly skinned alive as they're being dipped in a rubbing alcohol salt bath.

 Re: Meet the Spartans
I had to see it. I just had to see it. That and I had three hours to kill until my last class of the night and was the only film that worked out time wise.
I had many thoughts walking out of the theater. The first was 64 minutes. 64 minutes. That's the running time of the film without the credits. That's just an insulting running time. It isn't insulting to a viewer who say is watching this on TV, but imagine the poor schmuck who doesn't realize this is part of the "Movie" cannon and just happens to walk in 5-10 minutes late. That happened in my theater today. Those people just might as well have wiped their asses with the money. As it unsurprisngly turns out, that would've been much better use with the money.
Oh but wait, the movie is 83 minutes long you say. It is. Inlcuding unused bits in the film that are left over for the credits (they should've kept them in, it wouldn't have made a difference in terms of quality), the credits are 20 minutes long. That's 1/4 of the running time. If you leave during the "American Idol" finale (everyone in my theater did. I stayed for the rest to punish myself for going to see this) you are missing 1/4 of the film. And talk about a blatant attempt to pad the running time. Guess how much of this time is used for actual footage? Seven minutes. That leaves 13 minutes of credits, and not even Return of the King could post a credit time that long. And guess why? They repeated certain parts of the credits. They also, I noticed, made up songs to make the credits longer. I highly doubt that a 64 minute film had about 25 songs. I certainly don't remember 25 songs.
Okay, so why am I rambling on about nothing? Because this was much more interesting than the rest of the film. I did not laugh once during the 64 minutes (I did laugh once during the credits when they mocked Dane Cook and referenced a much better film - Employee of the Month). However, I believe the film should be seen. Don't pay for it though. No more money should be given to these heartless bastards. Download it. Download it and then send a letter to FOX about it. Why should you see it though? How many comedies have you seen where not one joke works? And I'm not exaggerating. Not a one works. These two spawns of Satan couldn't make a spoof film by accident.
No Stars
I do feel somewhat sympathetic though towards Diedrich Bader. I always enjoyed his work as Oswald on The Drew Carey Show, and he deserves more than this.

 Re: Meet the Spartans
Throughout its, like, one hour of actual film screentime, I'm not sure I laughed once. and I didn't laugh during any of the long credits either. Even Ken Davitian failed to provide a funny moment, the script was that bad. The only things you can get out of this is how Carmen Electra is somehow still hot and just how much skill it must have taken to make 300, because there were at least 20 moments in this movie where I could tell that they were too lazy to make it look good. Disgusting, I can't believe stuff like this manages to rule America for any amount of time.

 Re: Meet the Spartans
Out of morbid curiousity, I watched this one. I heard it was the worst movie ever, and unfortunately it lived up to the hype. I can honestly say this was the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have seen some turds in my time.
Not a single joke works. Every joke falls PAINFULLY flat, and I'm not even sure most of the jokes even qualifies as a joke. Words can not express at how poorly this was made and written. Every forum member here could write a better, more funny script then this. My head hurts just thinking how bad it was.
The only kind thing I can think of to say about the movie was that it was so spectacularly bad that I could not turn away... I could not turn it off! After I finished I felt like I had been through hell, and that if I could make it through MTS, I could make it through anything that life could throw at me. If I should get terminal cancer tomorrow, my first thought would be "if I can live through MTS, I can live through this!". It's made me a better person.

Meet the Spartans
What a load of shit that was. I get what they're trying to do, make people laugh, but it was rather silly and most of the attempts at jokes were just insulting or ridiculing US celebrities, some I'd never even heard of so it doesn't travel that well. They are trying to make people happy in a time of misery, so I will not rate it too low. I laughed once at the "we'll take them from the rear, then reach around" scene. I was pissing myself. I don't know why, but it just caught me at the right time I guess.
