I do believe the tossing of the salad had to be removed in order to beat the NC-17 rating. I had posted the screenshot over at BOM but alas, I can't find it.
Damn you analingus.

*YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY*
I am so happy you loved it too! I don't know how it got passed up this year in the Oscars. Thanks God KJers have better taste than that. Hey everyone, read makeshifts's post carefully, and then FYC, or with me around, more like For Your Coersion...VOTE BAD EDUCATION FOR EVERYTHING.
Makeshift, its so interesting that you got a quote tht mentioned 8 1/2 since that's my most recent official review up for the main site. Come to think about it, the comparison as far as style definately makes sense.

THE DREAMERS
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Director
Breakthrough Performance (Eva Green)
Best Overlooked Film
"Bertolucci provokes audiences instead of pacifying them. Boy, do we need him now." -Rolling Stone
"Bernardo Bertolucci's new film is an ardently romantic love song to sex, cinema and the spirit of the 60's."- New York Times
"It is both a love song to escapism and a warm embrace of the real world -- a wake-up call that one place, without the other to occasionally return to, would make life for us (who are the real dreamers) far less wonderful."- Washington Post
"It effectively explains why we obsess over movies and rock and roll and honest communication long after those passions have been hijacked by parodists and advertising agencies." -Detroit Free Press
"An ambitious and exciting piece of work, a movie about sex and movies made by a filmmaker who understands the power of each to set off fantasy, create addiction, incite danger and transform the spirit."- San Francisco Chronicle
"Anyone seeking cheap titillation would do better to invest their movie cash in a fresh copy of Playboy or Penthouse than to spend the two hours of contemplation needed to fully appreciate the myriad layers of The Dreamers."- Toronto Star
"Above all it evokes a time when the movies -- good movies, both classic and newborn -- were at the center of youth culture."- Chicago Sun Times
"It's wonderful to see a film that takes back sex from the smutty teen comedies, that grapples with political ideas and shouts its love of cinema from the rooftops."- Minneapolis Star Tribune
"A rich movie filling the viewer with a four-course French meal of sensuality, politics, ideas and character."- Denver Post
"It's hottttttttttttt" -Rod
