February 01, 2005 - IGN FilmForce has learned that screenwriters David Elliot and Paul Lovett are now onboard the big-screen version of G.I. Joe. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing the live-action feature for Paramount Pictures.
Elliot and Lovett scripted Four Brothers, which Di Bonaventura is producing for Paramount. That John Singleton-directed drama is now filming with Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese, Andre 3000 and Garrett Hedlund starring.
IGNFF had recently heard that Joe might be going the comedic route but the source of our Elliot/Lovett scoop advised us that the project is not a comedy.
Di Bonaventura's office refused any comment on Joe and the writers' reps at CAA did not respond to our inquiries for confirmation.Im getting all geeked out about the GI Joe movie. Im not sure about casting but Daryl Hannah is a MUST for Baroness
