LONDON (Reuters) - Despite complaints from 60 people, Britain's advertising regulators said Wednesday there is nothing inappropriate about the genitals of an animated frog whose high-pitched squeals are sold as a mobile phone ringtone.

Television adverts of the motorcycle-riding Crazy Frog, who is drawn with a broad smile and a tiny penis, run frequently on British television, amusing, baffling and annoying viewers.

"While unusual for an animated model of this type to be shown with genitalia, no sexual or inappropriate references were made about its anatomy," the UK's Advertising Standards Authority said.

I remember when i went to portugal.. alll soap and shampoo commercials showed nudity and nobody cared.

I wonder if they would've allowed it if it was a female frog. Or if the Frog had a big penis

too clarify here... it sounds almost (I realize its not true) that the squealing noise for the ringtones is actually generated from the genitals themselves? Now thats entertainment!

THEY SHOW NUDITY IN SHAMPOO COMMERCIALS IN PORTUGAL?! Dear lord. Don't you find that shampoo commercials always go right to the limit of what they show in their advertisements, then BAM! It's all a tease. Portugal got it right. It's either that, or I'm an idiot. Past history indicates the latter.

Okay, that's a tad more bizarre. And ... yeah, bizarre.

Hahah, the Crazy Frog is the most annoying ringtone ever.
It features a "frog" pretending to drive a motorbike

"A ningningngingggningg iningggginigggggggggngingggggningggg"

So annoying. Unsurprisingly the impressive intelligence of teenagers all over the country means that when you hear the Crazy Frog go off in a bus, or in a cafeteria, you know you can openly talk about the person with the phone - for they are so dumb that they cannot comprehend words, only wild frog noises.

The most annoying ringtone ever is not only costing like £3.00, but it sounds totally shit unless you've got a RealSound phone, at which point it dosen't sound shit - just annoying as hell.

Oh i can only imagine the amount of complaints America would make if they showed half the crap on tv that they do here

Mommies everywhere would have sore dialing fingers, and run out of paper from writing "strongly worded" letters like Desperate Housewives on ritilin.

I think the controversy is that they discriminate frogs and imply that frogs have small penises. This is unheard of!!

I see nothing wrong with it, people are tooooo picky!
