This movie was very funny. The trailers were great especially Ben Stiller's. The story was wonderful and Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise were the highlights of the movie.

Re: Tropic Thunder
I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Right behind Blazing Saddles for funniest.

Re: Tropic Thunder
Downright HYSTERICAL! TDK of comedies! Everybody shines! That guy who played "Alpa-Chino" ( ) is a young chris tucker; black was gone for most of it but came on strong at the end "Ill literally suck your dick" or "Were gonna fucking die!". RDJ Stiller Nolte
-Lance Bass -Jennifer Love Hewitt -Cruise was funny, but the first dance scene was funny, but the 2nd was dumb. But I give him props for saying fuck that many times, given who he is, in a frat pack comedy. -BOOTY SWEAT! -BUSTANUT BAR
The trailer though just CANT be topped. Even though you knew what Stiller said (who left the fridge open) it was still The Fatties was kind of dumb, but when the letter "farts" out out the relese date I died ...."5 time academy award winner Kirk Lazurous......and mtv movie award winner for best kiss....tobey mcguire"
SOMEBODY HAS TO GET THE PROLOGUE(s) ON YOUTUBE!
That said, this was pretty large scale; the shot of him running in the begining with the helicopter crashing in the backround was tight;
And Cruise and McCounghenys roles were way too big to be just a cameo, and for real; how could you not immeadietly tell it was tom cruise?

Re: Tropic Thunder
Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. shone in a masterwork of a comedy. Its only problem was that there were too many big actors in great parts, and some of them got pushed aside to make way for the better roles. Other than that, it was just big laugh after big laugh. Full review coming soon.

Re: Tropic Thunder
B+ It was good, but not hilarious. Maybe I went in with too high of expectations but I wasn't dieing of laughter, and it just went on far to long. The first half was pretty much all over the place, but after that it really picked up. A lot of jokes hit, but when they missed it was silent. Stiller was great, but the Simply Jack thing went on to long. It was funny yes, but annoying. Cruise was great but not as good as I had hoped. Matteo over there, his cameo as well went on far to long. Bad things aside, it was an overall good movie. BUT If it weren't for Cruise, Black and RDJ this movie would have went to shits. PE and SB though, were both funnier. Satan's Alley though was the funniest thing I've probably seen all year.

i don't think it's even the funniest part of the movie, yet i think it certainly merits the honors you applied to it in any other case.

Re: Tropic Thunder
possibly the best cameo / brief comedic performance I've ever seen. if this movie had been like a $200m+ blockbuster, Cruise would've erased almost everything he's done for himself the past few years. Sadly, its performance isn't strong enough to erase it all.
But it certainly has revived a career that otherwise would've been dead in a good five years.

Re: Tropic Thunder
Cruise was in too many scenes to be a cameo; will ferill in wedding crashers, or vince vaughn, ben stiller, jack black, and luke wilson in anchorman-those were cameos. This role probably took atleast a week or 2 to film.
Outtakes for Cruises must be hilarious

No.
not an actual sequel to Tropic Thunder, but another movie with those characters, definitely.
or maybe just a Kurt Lazarus / Les Grossman duo spin-off.

Really half the theater? 2 or 4 person theater.
Mine theater was full and I heard laughs and claps but no one stood up.
PS. Also on this scene it looked like RDJ was shooting into the sky as he was shooting up. Very Wierd.

Re: Tropic Thunder
some questions...
- so was this the movie that was suppose to include Owen Wilson and what part was he suppose to play > I imagine the part got re-written for either Black or RDJ.
like the year where there was basically a 50/50 split of the better comedy - Wedding Crashers or 40 Year old virgin.
I am wondering how these 3 would be rank
Step Brothers - personally I go with this as the funniest but TT had some highs also. Tropic Thunder Pineapple Express

I've had crowds like that, just full of enthusiasm and positive energy. Best time to see a comedy like this is the latest screening any night on opening weekend - - it's quite a different experience to see it for the first time in an empty matinee later in it's run, or God forbid, on DVD at home...

He was going to be the agent (which McConaughey played).
