Mav, BJ is sending ballots out to the top 90 highest post counts tonight, that's why none of you guys have gotten them yet.

Well, it won't be as special as if it was from you, but BJ's a cool guy, so it'll have to do, I guess. #-o

I got ballot from alex young.
Folks, please pay attention to the first post of the "category confusion" thread, and try to follow the suggested categories there to put the nominees under if you have them in your ballots. That will save me personal messages asking you if you're sure or want to change. If you feel very strongly against a particular suggestion, speak out and discuss it in that thread. Thanks. You can still vote any way you like, but the fewer there are vote splits, the better, especially when you want to get someone nominated.
BTW, from the first 3 ballots, I can tell how fun and how tough the tabulating process is going to be. Already 11 films got mentioned for Best Picture out of 15 possible slots, and some of the usual suspects haven't shown up yet. Please catch as many 2004 movies as you can this couple of weeks. This is going to be wild.

Since the Predictions Thread is closed down, I'll post my predictions for the three main categories here:
Best Picture:
Million Dollar Baby
Collateral
Kill Bill Vol. 2
The Incredibles
The Aviator
Best Actress:
Uma Thurman, Kill Bill Vol. 2
Hilary Swank, Million Dollar Baby
Julie Delpy, Before Sunset
Kate Winslet, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind
Bruce Dallas Howard, The Village (going out on a limb here, but I think her performance was very well-liked)
Best Actor:
Jamie Foxx, Ray
Jim Carrey, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind
Leonardo DiCaprio, The Aviator
Tom Cruise, Collateral
Johnny Depp, Finding Neverland
Any other opinions?

I haven't gotten a ballot yet. Am I getting it through PM or do I just do it myself?
Thanks!

I'm hoping people are only voting for movies they've seen and not just because award shows are nominating them!

Ditto!
That's why I'm not voting until the deadline, so I can see as many as possible before deciding.

Libs, I don't know? I find the time alignement on this forum odd, I feel like its set for England maybe? When did you post that message? If none of the top 90 post count people have received a ballot yet, let me know in this thread and I'll see what I can do. You should get a ballot, so don't worry unless you want to jump the gun and just delete the ballot that comes to you via mail.
Also, Lecter, we are going to have predications start closer to the 17th (or maybe right after but before the show). Mostly to avoid confusion, and also because it affects voting. I may assume Incredibles is going to make it due to everyone's predictions, and throw my vote on Moolaade, and then unfortunately Incredibles could be left out, etc. So I will bump up that thread again as long as someone reminds me, because its a great idea, just not this early on. Also not in this thread, since we want to make sure you and matatonio and xia can keep up strong ballot communication. he's already received one from alex.

Probably not.
But y'all should which is why I would vote for it regardless as a nom.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/moolaade/ .... It's got 98% fresh and a 8.3/10 over at RT, plus 100% Fresh (8.6/10) Cream of the Crop. There aren't many movies like that this year. WATCH IT. DOOOOOOOOO IT.
And don't forget to vote for Gael Garcia Bernal for best actor in. like, any of the movies he did this year. Best Ensemble cast for Coffee and Cigarettes and Saved.
*oh I'm sorry...was that a shamless plug in a thread other than the consideration thread? I promise I won't do it again until next time*

I really need to see Motorcycle Diaries. I'm gonna rent it the day it comes out and then send in my ballot. I think it comes out on DVD like two days before the ballots are due.

Yeah, I really, really want to see Bad Education, too. I don't think it ever came to Ashland, though, which is pretty weird. Ashland has a pretty large gay community and I had heard that gay people would really appreciate it or something?

Send it anytime between now and the cutoff date. (Feb. 17th at the time the voting closes) I still have some movies to see, so I'm waiting before voting, but for those who aren't seeing anymore movies before then, feel free to vote now you wish.

haha...ok, I got it. #-o (I wasn't paying attention that it was you who asked...lol
Send it to either of us when you get them. I'm saving all of mine, and will be sending them to both of you as well. That way, we all have all of the ballots, and we can all count the votes to assure accuracy.

First: Still haven't gotten the ballot :???:
Secondly: Are the categories set in stone? I just wondered if we'd include Best Poster and Best Trailer (if there aren't in it already, this thread has become too confusing)

The categories are set in stone, and they are listed in the first post. No more changes.
