This movie has really grown on me. Watched it for the fifth time yesterday and I loved it even more. Zach Braff and Natalie Portman (she was never cuter than here) were just amazing. And the movie has a high rewatchability. I'll bump my grade up to an A. It has really good chances to even get the perfect grade over time. Can't believe I'm so amazed by the movie after having seen it so many times now.
Here are two quotes from the film that I really love:
Andrew Largeman: You know that point in your life when you realize that the house that you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of the sudden even though you have some place where you can put your stuff that idea of home is gone.
Sam: I still feel at home in my house.
Andrew Largeman: You'll see when you move out it just sort of happens one day one day and it's just gone. And you can never get it back. It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist. I mean it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I miss the idea of it. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place
-----------------------------------
Andrew Largeman: I think we've corrupted this innocent girl enough for one day!
Sam: I'm not innocent.
Andrew Largeman: Yes, you are! That's what I like about you, okay? And I don't want this guy taking you to some sketchy quarry in the middle of Newark to find crack whores huffing turpentine or pit bulls raping each other or whatever else is down here!
Mark: Man... that's the most worked up I've ever seen you.
Sam: He's protecting me.
Andrew Largeman: So?
Sam: He *likes* me!
Andrew Largeman: Don't be cute.
Sam: He's my knight in shining armor.
Andrew Largeman: Don't talk about knights around Mark, it's a sore subject.
Mark: I'm gonna kill that motherfucker!
Andrew Largeman: Pun intended?

Great film. Natalie is one of my favorite actresses. Zack Braff is good as well. Sweet film. AWesome soundtrack, btw.
And who gave this the 3 F's?????????

Hmmm, yeah, it really grew on m as well after two repeat viewings. I'd grade it A-/A now. Very very charming, it really leaves me smiling by the end of it.

Hey! This may be a stupid film in your opinion, and we might well be idiots, but... err... where was I going with this again?

I might have liked to Gulli... but if he honestly thinks Garden State is a stupid film and is so jealous of those that enjoy it, that he has to overcompensate and call them idiots -- then there's clearly nothing I could ever say that would be worse than the disconnected, emotionless personal hell the guy obviously already lives in...

Loved it, still love the music.
Favorite scene is the shooting the arrows into the air and Natalie Portman pulling her ear.

 Re: Garden State
I honestly don't go three or four months without watching this movie. I watch it every time I need a gentle lift of spirits, and it works every time. Simply incredible.

 Re: Garden State
I know people hate when others change a grade after a second viewing (because that's somehow weird?) but, yeah, I definitely didn't like it as much the second time. Definitely not A- worthy, anyway.
