SPIDERMAN III Begins Shooting In 3 Months = UPDATED!!!
http://www.superherohype.com/news/spide ... hp?id=2519
However, no word yet on who the Villian(s) will be in this 3rd and final outing, but I'd like to think it will be Harry Osborn since they've built his character up so much and Dr.Connor as The Lizardman, but will see.. Venom is probably far too complex to introduce this so late in the game.. The movie is slated for May 2007...

Niceeeeeeee. I'd also like to see Harry do something in this movie. From Spider-Man II, they gave him the perfect chance to do something, so they should take advantage of it.

The Question is: Will Harry be The Green Goblin II or The HobGoblin???

If Harry Osborn isn't the villian (in whatever guise) then Sam Raimi has built up the mythology of the trilogy for nothing. All the minor sub-plots have been building towards this.
I'm assuming HobGolbin.
I'm also assuming Harry Osborn would have used those 2 interim years to build a better mask then the one his father had

i agree with andaroo.
if this is a trilogy, harry has to have closure.
then again, if its a trilogy, i do not see this ending without the introduction of venom.

I guess we'll see Dr. Curt Connors emerge as the Lizard during the first act or opening scene for Spidey. That will lead up to Harry as the main villian and just the slightest taste of John Jameson in space becoming Venom.

Doesnt New Line own the name of Venom? Im having a hard time seeing New Line handing over the rights to the character since whatever his name was sold the comic book rights to New Line

I dont think New Line is owned by Warners since Blade was produced by New Line. Yeah I heard while back people saying that Venom being a villian in Spiderman wont happen anytime since I think was it Todd Mcfarlen sold the rights of the character to New Line

New Line, Fine Line, both owned by Warner Brothers.

If John Jameson becomes Venom, you know it would really piss off alot of comic books fans since they all know its Eddie Brock that is Venom. Eddie Brock also has an interesting backstory and motivation in becoming Venom.

I don't see any other way around it. Eddie's storyline with Peter is classic Marvel but it's too late in the game to introduce that relationship IMO.

Did Sony say they are looking for at least 6 Spiderman movies? I think by the 5th movie if they incorparate Eddie's story inside 3 and 4, it could build up nicely. By the sixth movie, they can probably introduce Carnage. I think Venom being in a Spiderman movie is just wishful thinking though

McFarlane was only the co-creator of the character with David Michelinie, he didn't own it. It's a Marvel character, and I believe Sony has the rights to all things Spider-man, and I know Marvel has those rights, not Mcfarlane. Spawn is McFarlane's creation and property.
Harry will obviously be the villian, and Sam Raimi doesn't like to have multiple villians, something that allows him to focus on the story of the central characters. It's worked great, and I don't see him changing. Venom will have to wait until the 4th movie, and they'll have to anti up to Tobey and Kirsten to return for at least one more.

Agreed Mav.
I think in this one we get the Hob Goblin and a minor villin or 2 ... the lizard or Rhino ... someone under harry. while the plot builds toward venom (the reason a 4th installment would make oodles of money) for the 4th movie. And both Tobey and Kirstin will come back for a 4th. They would be idiots not too.

It will be as good if Raimi stays onboard and continues to write and direct the movies.. It's clear he has passion for this character and that's what makes movies like this succeed is when the Director has good knowledge of the character and makes it work... But then again, despite the fact SPIDERMAN II was Awesome in every way shape and form, there's always these nitpicky idiots in the internet world that go out of their way to find fault in the films to make themselves sound smarter than they really are in an effort to put it down and I'm afraid SPIDERMAN III will be no different.. There are just some people that can stand the fact that these movies in this franchise are a sheer success and they know it.. =D>

No no no, we do not need this, Spider-man was poor, Spider-man 2 was better but still very poor, for a third movie to be any good they need Venom, but i doubt that they'll have him, so its going to suck.
It wont make as much as #1 or #2, that'll show them!!!

I'm sorry but anyone that says that SPIDERMAN and SPIDERMAN II were poor movies that don't deserve a 3rd outing need to pull their collective heads out of their ases.. You couldn't of made a better movie then what Raimi translated to the big screen, right out of the Goddamn comics.. A movie that makes 403 Million Dollars and a Sequel that makes 360 Million dollars pretty much indicates that you are in the small, minute minority of folks who thought this comic adaptation was bad which is completely and totally ASSININE... That is a FACT, NOT an Opinion, but a FACT.. Also, the fact that they couldn't put Venom in the 3rd one does not mean it will suck.. What it means is that the character of Venom is a very complex character that needs building up in order to do it right, not just drag him in for a 3rd movie and expect his origin to be explained thoroughly and done so in the time frame of 2 hours and afew minutes to spare.. In conclusion: Your WRONG..

I guess Im ignored but if anyone bothers to do their research on the net, alot of news were reporting that Venom is owned by New Line. Venom WONT happen till New Line sells the rights of the character to Sony and it aint going to be cheap. Maverick, my answer was misinterpreted because I heard one of the guys who owns the rights to Venom and Carnage sold the rights to New Line, I just wasnt sure if it was Todd Mcfarlen because when Venom was created he was still working for Marvel
Say that if Sony does aquire the rights to Venom, I dont think they will use him till maybe the fifth movie and use Carnage for the very last movie
I still think they will probably use Mysterio and Lizard for the fourth one
Carnage if they do also purchase the rights from New Line will have to tone down the violence, else it will get an R rating
