No matter if powerful or not...
The question was which brands had the most impact on your life in 2004...I doubt Ikea made that much of an impact....

I'd say things like Coca-Cola and Nike and MacDonalds are bigger than alot of those.

If most of the furniture in your house is from Ikea, uhh, I'd say that's a pretty big impact.
Heh. That makes Corona ranking #2 in Central & Latin America funnier.

Cement - no idea
Maybe they had a memorable commercial in 2004.
BTW, Vina Concho y Toro is a wine. It's pretty good, too.

Its because most of latin america is in poverty and they cannot afford an Ipod or other expensive things,so of course it makes sense that food, cement and alcoholic drinks(like rum and beer)are the things that impact them the most.Rum is one of their largest economic incomes. And cement is important so they can build houses of cement insted of crappy wood.

It's actually Cuban. Bacardi (the guy) was born in Spain but emigrated to Cuba.
I jsut happened to know that. For no reason. I promise.

People take Pepsi, Microsoft, and Coke for granted since they are such everyday things - brands like Apple generated alot of hoopla with the slick marketed I-Pod which all of a sudden became the "in" thing.
People thought about its aesthetics and branding more than anything else - its what sells the thing, that, at its core is no better or worse than many MP3 players at half the price.

While I won't consider it number 1, Apple in the top 5 globally (and even higher in North America) would make sense. Their latest marketing strategy is absolutely brillaint (as much as i hate it cause i dont want a complete generation of kids growing up on apple)
IKEA seems spot on as well!
