This is getting amazing buzz among my friends. Even my friend who loved TGU and likes all shitty movies, loved this. It's getting amazing buzz from my crowd which is a pretty mixed crowd of teenagers.

I remember now. Good memory.

I also realized that BB did the same thing. The final shot of Batman flying towards the screen. Two great epic ending shots.

Nolan has done such a phenomenal job with the franchise, it makes me so happy.

God, Nolan is a freaking genius. I am planning on seeing this for a fourth time soon.

I am watching The Prestige now. Further shows Nolans genius.

Tomorrow will be Memento then Following the next day.

If Following is half as good as any of his other films I think I found my new favorite director

Side note: I still need to see The Machinist which I just rented.

Still when I think of this movie, it really feels like it should be subtitled, The Tragedy of Harvey Dent.

Imo the tragedy of Harvey Dent was the film's weak point.

The transformation from normal Harvey to Two-Face was way to sudden...

Like I understand Harvey was a good guy and was forced to turn evil, but they could have made a bit more gradual.

Like he could have been somewhat bad and turned more and more evil.

He is locking up mobsters and being selfless and a white Knight and all and then 5 mins latter he becomes the Next Hamlet.

HOWEVER, I may change my mind with a 2nd viewing next week.

No way, The Dark Knight is perhaps the most perfect title ever, it pertains to Batman himself not Harvey, and in the end the movie is clearly centered around Bruce/Batman.

If you don't get the picture.

The Dark Knight is a reference to the Black Knight which is the Batman. He is more of a guardian then a hero.

The White Knight was Harvey dent who was a selfless, caring and courageous man or a perfect knight.

You try getting half your face burnt off and your fiance murdered and having to feel the pain non stop from both and see how slow it takes you to crack.

It seemed pretty gradual to me. Watch his trust in people decline. He was already cracking before the attack.

IMO Godfather Part 2 is a bit long the first time, but you really respect it once you understand everything and appreciate it. It is something that is beyond enjoyment, it is something you respect.

When Michael pretends he is forgiving Fredo by hugging him and then nods at his henchmen to kill him.

When the guy was about to rat out the family in Senate hearing and Michael brought the guy's brother from Sicily, and and he gave one look and they other guy froze.

These scenes aren't entertaining but they are magical and fascinating.

Imo film can be then just enjoyment, they can be something that can fascinate you as well.

How does TDK fall in to this...

It is rather simple, sure the films action scenes were great but it is the acting that makes TDK the best Comic Book film ever.

I thought it was a bit fast when it happen...but looking back...its not.

Remember his reaction in the courtroom (punching the guy in the face) and what he did to the Joker goon with the "Rachel Dawes" tag. The latter is a major thing as it showed how deeply he cared for Rachel and how far he would be willing to go. He clearly had this inner-rage in him, and the accident+Rachel's death kind of pushed him off the edge

Not to mention, Joker's speech to him is VERY convincing. Here it is again:

Quote:
The Joker: [speaking to Two-Face] Do I really look like a man with a plan, Harvey? I don't have a plan. The mob has plans, the cops have plans. You know what I am, Harvey? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do if I caught one. I just *do* things. I'm a wrench in the gears. I *hate* plans. Yours, theirs, everyone's. Maroni has plans. Gordon has plans. Schemers trying to control their worlds. I am not a schemer. I show schemers how pathetic their attempts to control things really are. So when I say that what happened to you and your girlfriend wasn't personal, you know I'm telling the truth.
[hands Two-Face a gun]
The Joker: It's a schemer who put you where you are. You were a schemer. You had plans. Look where it got you. I just did what I do best-I took your plan and turned it on itself. Look what I have done to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple bullets. Nobody panics when the expected people get killed. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying. If I tell the press that tomorrow a gangbanger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will get blown up, nobody panics. But when I say one little old mayor will die, everyone loses their minds! Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I am an agent of chaos. And you know the thing about chaos, Harvey? It's fair.
[with the gun in Two-Face's hand, he places the gun to his forehead; Two-Face pauses and takes out his coin]
Two-Face: [showing the unscarred side] You live.
The Joker: Mm-hm.
Two-Face: [flipping, showing the scarred side] You die.
The Joker: Now you're talking!

Joker even convinces me there.

That was my favorite bit of dialog in the whole film, absolutely amazing.

No I know, I was just making a point that Dent's tragedy was the heart and soul of what drove this picture, everything revolves around it.

True in the end his character has a huge impact on the story.
