Madonna and Britney pledge for Tsunami
Britney Spears and Madonna have been spearheading [hehe] several Tsunami aid efforts in a banding of celebrities who have been pledging money to the Tsunami victims.
Spears recorded a message to the Tsunami victims along with a special concert featuring Alicia Keys and she agreed with big-momma of pop Madonna to donate $2m each to the Tsunami charity after making original hefty donations to the funds.
Spears and Madonna are just two of the megastars in an overwhelming global show of celebrity donations as well as an unprecendeted show of public donations.
Nearly 300,000 people died in the disaster which shocked the globe into giving instead of shopping after Christmas. It also marked some of the lowest January sales figures on record.

Your attitude sickens me. Why do you have to be so damn bitter and hateful all the time?
At least they are doing something unlike you, so until then keep your negative comments to yourself.

1) none of you know how much I give or don't give to "causes" so think whatever you want. i have no need to prove myself to anyone here either way.
2) my point is that there is so much hypocrisy in the world. and i have no problem pointing it out.
3) now why don't we all go back to watching tv in the comfort of our homes....

This is my point. When I hear madonna or britney saying things like this, then I'll stop questioning their intentions.

now if only Gael Garcia Bernal would be the same
seriously, i know $1 million is better than nothing. but it just angers me that its more of a publicity stunt rather than true care. but i know there's so much one can..

Sammy's kinda right though  and you can attack me too if you want to.
It doesn't mean I don't think it's nice of them to donate the money. Or that it shouldn't be appreciated. But...

I opened this expecting to read that Madonna was going to donate a buck for ever new guy she jumps, like a sexual walk miles for cancer thing. What a disappointment.

How much money did you give, PinkPanther? You're telling Sam to keep his comments to himself until he gives money, when I have serious doubts you gave any money either.

I actualyl see your point, and think have soem valid complaints to make.
Why should I care or be happy that they donated money, just becaue its alot...its not like they are going to bat an eyelash over the loss of money.
I don't get excited when you post the name of your neighbor and that they donated $10.
Donating to people who need it is great, but the recognition that some celebrities want for doing this is irritating.
I have respect for people like Bono and Jolie and geniuely doante thier time nad care about the causes they donate money to.

Angelina has been absolutely wonderful the last few years with her incredible support of refugees. It has really helped a lot of people in a lot of places. Kudos to her!

Who cares if it is just a publicity stunt? They still donated two million each. That's four extra million for all the homeless people affected by this tragedy.

oy vey. yes, the money is good. yes, the victims sure need it. BUT... this is not the only part of the world in need. why is this so hard to understand?!?!?!?!!
All these donations and media attention make it seem that "ooh wow what great people they are. Now the world is better." No. It's not.
Unfortunately, the wealth distribution in the world makes it so that I have to live pay check to pay check and I cannot give $1,000,000 to charity. Yes, I have MANY comforts that perhaps I should not have. We all do. But I tell you, if I had $1,000,000 to spare, i would do all i could with it to make the world a better place. quietly. without a press announcement about it.
