Maybe they will add 2 more at 1230. THAT is what I like to see!! Quote: I am sure majority of theaters(4000+) will be doing midnight shows. It hopefully has a chance at beating Sith. That would something, midnights beating BB's OD(that should make a good thread). Itd be something, but its not happening. Quote: People need to stop thinking this has a chance at beating Sith. Because then, when it "only" gets 10m at midnights, people will be like "DISSAPOINTING NUMBER!" Agreed, though I personally am hoping for 12 million.

Well, people are paying to see it, so...
Every imax that does round the clock showing of tdk is guarented $150,000 on that weekend due to TDK.

Re: The Dark Knight pre-sales and sellout watch
I've already bought tickets for the 7:30pm showing on the 18th at Regal Union Square. Can't wait I wanted to see it in IMAX here but the showings have been sold out all weekend for a while and there's no way I'm waiting. I'll save the IMAX viewing for the second or third time

I mean, I know you are a tremendous fan of this but come on.. Don't you think this is a bit extreme??? If I were an employee at the theatre having to work that late, I'd be pissed..

Re: The Dark Knight pre-sales and sellout watch
I don't have any sell out reports but I just wanted to note that this movie is going to be playing at both The LAndmark Theatre and Century City AMC in LA. That never happens. If one theatre is carrying a film, the other won't carry it. It's usually not an issue since The LAndmark is mostly indie fare but once in a while they play a mainstream flick. Batman will undoubtedly be it's biggest/most mainstream movie to date.
And The Landmark is having a midnight showing for it. I don't recall ever coming across The Landmark Theatre doing midnight showings.
And on the 3:30am thing.... if that was the time tickets were available, wouldn't you see The Hulk at 3:30am?? It's not like these people are doing something continuously. It's one night.

I wouldn't stay up to see a movie at 3:30 AM no matter how big a fan I am.. It's simply absurd and merely proves that the moviegoer has no tolerance for patience to wait to see a movie at a decent hour.. Folks, there's a time to sleep and a time to watch a movie and 3:30 AM to go out and pay to see a movie no matter what it is is just assinine.. I'm sorry but it is..

Come on Redfirebird, are you serious?? You really think a movie that's being shown that late is acceptable?? Midnight is 1 thing, but goddamn..

It's hilarious that BKB hasn't complained about ANY OTHER movie having Midnight showings.
Wall-E had midnights, Hulk had midnights... But wait, only complain about TDK having midnights. Just because it's going to outgross Hulk in THREE DAYS!!!!

By the way, didn't you lose a bet regarding the Hulk? Time for you to leave the damn board for 3 months like you promised.

Kid, I haven't complained about the movie having midnight showings cause midnight shows have been around forever, but to show a movie at 3:30 AM is absurd and everyone knows it.. And who gives a fuck whether Batman outgrosses HULK in 3 days?? TDK didn't have a crappy movie made 5 years earlier and a hurdle to climb to gain moviegoers trust in seeing a brand new film and to me, that's quite a feat in what it has gotten considering this.. I'm actually not disappointed at all in TIH's box office thus far cause it was damn good and balanced it out.. Now, I would've been a hell of alot more pissed had the movie sucked balls like Ang Lee's version and did this, YES.. For certain, but it didn't no matter what you thought of it.. Gee?? How's WALL-E doing?? Not as good as you intially thought now is it??

No matter how many ways you want to spin it, showing a movie practically when the sun is about to come up in like 90 minutes is just overkill..

Eat it. It also appeals to a wider crowd, small kids included and even then, it's still not doing as well as intially expected cause of no dialogue for what?? 40 minutes??

Yeah, I have a real job alright along with a fat 401K which is something they probably don't offer at the gas station you work at.. Oh I forgot, you don't work cause you spend every waking moment dreaming of Pixar robots and guys running around in rubber batsuits staying up til 3 in the morning hyperventilating over it..
