To me it is a great film and is third best Pixar film ever made.

It is a very adult themed animation picture.

You have a Dystopia and then you have "A Brave New World" style dystopia utopia and very adult themes in a kids movie.

To me it shows the brilliance of pixar to have such deep messages and themes and yet be an enjoyable film. The references to the Macintosh when he gets charged was funny and the Cuckoo next scene was hilarious.

However this is not one of the best movies in recent times or ever.

First of all the film's action scenes are nothing in comparison to the incredibles and the film is very cute but the story is much better in finding nemo.

Nonetheless it is an easy 9/10 and is the best animation picture since the Incredbiles.

Damn.

Pixar wins this round. Wall-E really was great. This is a great comeback from Pixar after two complete stinkers (Ratatouille and Cars). Absolutely beautiful-looking film with such great characters. Just about everything Wall-E did in this film put a smile on my face. And, yes, Wall-E and Eve made an amazing on-screen couple for two robots that barely said a thing to each other, yet you knew exactly how they felt. Oh, and the ending? Almost the saddest thing everrrrr.

All the stuff with the humans? It didn't necessary hurt the film, but I didn't care much for it.

I'd rank Toy Story and Finding Nemo above this, but still, good job, Pixar.

***1/2 (or like an A-, for you poll-obsessed freaks)

Your review is almost accurate, the only thing wrong with it is calling this a comeback film, remember Ratatouille was incredible.

My goodness :noway:

I was expecting **1/2 at best

(Didn't you give Panda **1/2? To be honest, Zing, I thought Panda was more of your cup of tea. So, I thought if he gave Panda **1/2, no way Wall-E is going to get anything better from him.., I'm glad to be wrong though :D )

KFP is really good entertainment. Kinda, sorta forgettable, but I really enjoyed it. And I don't give good grades often for kids films, so I really did like KFP.

But Wall-E...really hit me. Just put a smile on my face throughout. I was genuinely concerned for Wall-E's well being the entire film. I would have been really upset if, you know, it didn't end the way it did.

Umm...

It was good. It wasn't the second coming or anything. Not the best film of the year. A-ish?

Yeah.

The first half is A+ material. The second half is B material.

Then the humans show up and it gets preachy and well... bad. Er well... not the greatest, not bad. Maybe just generic.

Anything involving Wall-E directly is great, but his cuteness doesn't cover up all of the flaws and head scratching I did about the plot of the humans.

I still find Finding Nemo more emotional and The Incredibles more intelligent.

Wall-E made my good friend start drinking, because it made him feel that his life is so sad. He's drinking for a few days in row now.
Now I'm afraid to watch this movie!!! What if it makes me start drinking toooo???

That doesn't sound like Wall-E made him drink. It sounds like his shitty-ass life and no sense of self-control made him drink.

Nothing *makes* people drink aside from those people themselves.

SW is so fuckin' hot. I drool for anything she's in. As soon as she makes a (voice) appearance here, I about wet myself. Really.

roo has it right - as do others, im sure id learn if i were to read the thread - in that the beginning really is aces and the film slips up a little into the in. i've seen it three times and i'm willing to admit this, but i think that the production values and the real creativity behind things - brining *a garbage collector* to life and making it out to be one of the best damn film characters in ages - is really notable. i dig this movie, and i'll probably leave it with a slightly inflated grade (perfect). :wub2:

It really is unfair to the movie to say that the second "half" is weak. I mean, the first half is so perfect that of course the second half is going to not be as good, they pretty much couldn't make a whole movie just on Earth, I don't know if it would've worked.

And the second half of the movie has some of the best scenes!!! And introduces the side characters! And they were ALWAYS focused on the love story.

A less generic and heavy handed story would have been better.

AND NO FUCKING FRED WILLARD GOD DAMMIT.

There is good scenes in the second half of the movie, no doubt. That's why I give the second half a B rather than a C or a D.

Nothing wrong with Mr. Willard.

He's quite amazing actually!

They had to put SOMETHING in the movie for the kids, I mean, it's still an animated movie.
