can't we not laugh at evils of the world without making a silly stink about it? you know, the fact that it is soooooo repulsive has now made this be very popular. if people would just giggle, say "that's mean", and moved on with their lives, then it wouldnt be such a big deal..
ugh. ](*,) ](*,) No....thousands of people lost their lives. Thousands of people lost ther sons, daughters, mothers and fathers. It is not something to joke about. Should we make jokes about the poeple who died in the twin towers? Should we make jokes about the poeple jumping out of the windows? If your mom were to die in a car crash, or get raped and murdered should I joke about that? That seriously has to be one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard sam... [-(
You know, people were afraid to laugh at anything after 9/11. it was considered to be inappropriate. but i remember that emmy show where ellen finally made it ok.
listen, no one can argue the tragic incidents of this. it would be silly of me to even suggest that this wasn't as tragic event. but why is it so bad to try to laugh at it. it's irony really. and in some ways, also exposes the fact that world reacted to this one particular event differently than others (this is not the only natural or man-made disaster to have killed so many). why was the reaction different? because this was fed to us via the media.
if you don't find it funny, fair enough. but to condemn those who NEED to find some humor in it is ridiculous, self-righteous, and plain arrogant.

Just listened to the song and I have to say I am appalled. Yes, this is a free country and yes everyone is entitled to free speach, but I am sorry this is a disgusting use of public airwaves for someone with a sick sense of humor. I, personally, am glad that all of the members of the radio station were indefinately suspended and hopefully they do regret their actions.
A little sensitivity would go a long way. 300,000+ people have died. Not a good time for jokes.

Right...I am seriously appaled by your statement. To make jokes about all those people dying? Would you make a joke to their face...call them chinks like in the song, tell them they saw their dead relatives floating bye....and that their children are gonna be slaves?
It's disgusting and I cannot believe you support the notion that this is "humerous." It is an IGNORANT song made by ignorant people...you can figure out the rest

That song was so uncalled for, and the most spiteful thing I have ever heard. It's so hateful, and not even laughable. Laughing at tragedies like these is evil, and not humerous in the least. It's Your Sam I'm ashamed of you for even standing up for these ignorant people.

Anytime a Company suspends you indefinitely, that's generally a kind way of saying your terminated and this termination was justified.. What the fuck would posess someone to come up with this shit so soon after a great tragedy like this??? :???:

Umm . Sam. There is a difference. Ellen made it ok? no. 2 weeks after the thing, I received the funniest 9/11 reconstruction pictures. I laughed and was entertained by them. But the difference was that none of them focussed on making fun of someone plunging off and dying. it didn't make fun of people being burned to death or knowing their demise is inevitable.
I think it'll be funny if they made fun of a tsunami itself. but listen to the song. God came and says, gotcha bitch and what all? Thats quite tasteless.

Anything can be made into comedy. Not everything can make people laugh. This is one of those times.
I keep listening to it, and I cannot understand how there are people working together on a morning show who ALL thought it would be funny to make this song. One person in a group of a thousand maybe, but a few people who work together? I don't know how that happened.

This clip was totally sickening - and it epiphonises the whole epidemic of dark humour being taken WAY too far that seems to be everywhere on radio and especially the internet - where boundaries are no longer there and you can just say any old shit to try and be controversial and cool. Is this a social statement thats adding to the revolution against being politcally correct?
Quote: On Monday, the hip-hop and R&B radio station and the deejay apologized and the seven-member morning show crew agreed to donate one week's pay to relief efforts. The tsunami struck on December 26, leaving nearly 300,000 dead or missing around the Indian Ocean from Somalia to Thailand.
Yeah because THATS a sincere apology. $12 in the post after saying god was laughing while your mothers watched you die. Hmmm.
That said - the only reason this show was pulled is to make everyone over at Good olde American Radio Station feel better about themselves for helping society be rid of all that is evil whilst doing their bit for those poor souls over in Asia. Before stepping into their leather-interior SUVs driving home with that ludicrously expensive gas in the vehicle, stepping into the $1.6M apartment before settling down infront of the plasma to gorge on munchies until they fall asleep in their own scummy smell - after their ludicrously hard day at work.

Right on.
baBA/ LMR: I didn't think this was like the funniest thing I've ever heard. it is tasteless. it is crude. it is rude. it is disgusting. it is everything people have said it is. my gripe is that people pretend that they are not amused by it (i don't know if that's the right word). i heard and said to myself, "haha that's mean" does that really make me ignorant and heartless??? does it really make void the fact that it was a horrible tragedy? i don't think so.
i dunno. :???:

they didn't pretend, sam.. they really aren't amused by it..
imagine if one of victims is one of your family members.. and listen to this song..
look at the lyric;
'Swim you bitches swim'
'You better run and kiss your a s s away, Go find your mommy'
'Now your children will be sold, Child slavery'
I can't believe someone will find these = 'FUNNY'

well i can't speak for other people sam ... i really wasn't amused by it at all.
the terrorist vw ad, i was amused by.
the newyork take over pictures after 9/11 involving the liberty girl wearing a veil, i was amused by, the new wtc's with flexible bodies to move out of the way when a plane comes, i was amused by .. jokes about people jumping off the 40th floor cause something even more terrifying was a second option IS NOT FUNNY.

Two people who wrote it were fired... The DJ who aired it were fined with 'two weeks paycut' to be donated to tsunami relief fund, plus the station is offering $1 million lump-sum donation to the same... Some local politicians though, want them to donate a week's worth of marketing revenue which could amount to about $10 million...

I personally, being the prude that i am, don't find tasteless jokes about atrocities funny - especially not the Tsunami OR 9/11.
