Wanted is heading towards a $50-60m, and should have an excellent weekend next week even though Hancock is being released. Huge weekdays will ensure legs. YAY.

Congratz..

Enjoy it while you can.. it's not gonna last forever

Monday's $6.4 million gross is higher than The Smiths first Monday (6.2) just slightly. However, this week, Wanted will pull way ahead.

It has to get $262 mil... That's a 4.16 multiplier. Not up to Pixars standards. :disgust:

- Wanted was the biggest opening of a live action film in Jolie's career
- It turned out to be the best June opening ever for an R-rated movie, beating Knocked Up's $30.6M, and the 6th highest R-rated opening of all time

and its one of the highest grossing 2nd place films. i better check that one while i laugh at Wall-E.

Hmm.

Wall-E is the highest OW for an animated film in June. Ever.
Wall-E is the highest OD for a Pixar film.
7th highest animated OW of all time.
Oh, and it will have Pixars highest week gross.

Oh, that's right, Wanted was SECOND.

Yeah, but it's not like women have ever really been BO draws, aside from a side-character sex appeal (like Megan Fox in Transformers or something). In fact, the only example of a woman drawing in box office based on acting ability/popularity that I can think of is Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. She owned the trailer, which basically made the box office happen on its own.

this is the one impressive record that Wanted has a claim to.

I don't see how you're laughing at Wall-E if it was the film that kept Wanted away from number one. and you call it a record as if it's some sort of achievement. Finishing second with a lot of money, behind a film with a completely different audience, doesn't say much about Wanted, but only really says that Wall-E did manage to one-up it.

like, I think Wanted's performance is more surprising and impressive than Wall-E's - at least compared to expectations - but you're talking about Wall-E like it bombed, when it really did beat your movie, will beat it by even more domestically, and will destroy it WW.

um billybob is it.

no one was excited for Wanted. the fact a film can still do that well in 2nd place in, is fantastic.

i didnt say WallE bombed. im just saying expectations for Wanted were surpassed. the expectations for WallE was not met. and we have KJ members laughing at Wanted's performance. get out.
