KJ & Wall-E: What Went Wrong?
Box's $442m club: EPIC FAIL -the 74 people that joined that club: EPIC FAIL x 74
Loyal's 100m+ OW: EPIC FAIL Failure list: 1. Loyal 2. Mr. Inc 3. Rev 4. Box 5. neo_wolf 6. BJ
neo_wolf's "Wall-E outgross Nemo": EPIC FAIL
mark66 "Will Wall-E beat Titanic": EPIC FAIL
I Am Moses "Wall-E Will Be In The 2008 Top 3 Domestic Club!": EPIC FAIL
Box's "80m OW Club": EPIC FAIL
getluv's "Wanted 170m+ Club": Winner or very close FAIL!
So KJ? what do you have to say for yourself? If Nikki is right, there was no change from Friday->Saturday. Another fail. Listen i blame Kj for my Wall-E hate. you people need to learn to be more realistic and not let everything go to your head.
I mean i choose my battles, and i always win.

My Wanted club which i was the only person who joined back in March or whateva, is the only winner up there this weekend. I don't want to brag, but something really fucked up majorly with Wall-E. What do we blame this time? Disney? No. Pixar? Maybe. June? No. Marketing? No. Story? Yes. Rehash of a very old movie? Yes. Reviews mean nothing? Yes. Does this qualify for another 842303232 threads for the next Pixar movie? No.

So I would put a $60-65m OW at a $230-250 final gross.

Well, to be honest, $300m is still possible.

This is the kind of thread so full of spite and the celebration of others' pain that one can only guess at how hate filled the OP's heart must be...

Re: KJ & Wall-E: What Went Wrong?
I never thought I'd see a "What Went Wrong" Thread for a movie like this.. I mean, did anything REALLY go wrong with this movie or was it more the fact that overpredicting played a role more than the movie itself??? Perhaps were all simply going too overboard this summer with all the insane box office predictions??? Is WALL-E's weekend box office really that bad to warrant this?? With that having been said, perhaps the box office predictions for TDK should be lowered a bit based on the way things turned out surprisingly this weekend??

With that having been said, perhaps the box office predictions for TDK should be lowered a bit based on the way things turned out surprisingly this weekend?? i think both "over-hype" of the fans and Pixar contribute equally to the fundamental "disappointment" both parties are feeling at the moment. Financially, it will make millions. But beating Titanic? come on. KJ users for the past 12 months have made the Box Office Bash pretty much unbareable, we're talking BOM-like-unbareable. As a box office website, it would be ignorant to suggest that i just stay away. Since there are practically Wall-E threads in every part of the forum, including the Water Cooler and The Site forum. and there were 7 Wall-E related box office clubs in the first 3 pages alone. So it's impossible to avoid. Since when did KJ turn into a fanboy breeding ground. back in the day there was a lot of excited people that made some poor predictions but usually for every poor decision there were 100 correct ones and not only that but the arguments that people gave for their predictions were strong ones. Just roll into my Wanted 170m+ club thread and just look at some of the reasons why some people even doubted Wanted would make 100m. Especially that russian dude with the 34 letter username. when actual evidence was given to the contrary it was dismissed. i'm sorry i even researched. And Pixar! No talking for the first 40 minutes. Are you kidding me? Critics might love that shit, and so do most hardcore film lovers. but you've already alienated an audience to just children and nostalgic parents with a G-rating. and the attention span of children these days is barely 2 seconds.

Re: KJ & Wall-E: What Went Wrong?
1) This thread is as silly as the WWW thread after INDY's $25m opening day... 2) "Will WALL-E beat TITANIC" is no club of mine, I just asked the question if WALL-E can deliver grosses similar to the adjusted grosses of PHANTOM MENACE and LION KING which would make this a possibility. I even stated several times in that thread that I don't believe it will beat TITANIC. 3) AND AFTER TWO DAYS (and we don't have any hard data of the 2nd day yet) THERE IS NO EVIDENCE AT ALL THAT ANYTHING WENT WRONG AND ALL OF THE CLUBS (except the two opening weekend clubs) ARE STILL A POSSIBILITY

Even entertaining the idea that it could approach Titanic is a joke.

I have seen (and still do) qualities in WALL-E that reminded me of E.T. and TITANIC therefore I still think that this was a legitimate question.

You can't even imply it. These things come as utter surprises.

According to Nikki, who is a reliable source, says that Wall-E hardly rose at all. i mean do we honestly think a film this day in age, especially a near-silent movie for children, is gonna achieve the wonderous heights of what Nemo did. Now Nemo had hype and all sorts of love going for it, this was fan-boy luv. the worst kind of luv there is.

She's a fucking retard and should stop being referred to. I've already ranted in the other thread so no point here.
