Peter Travers is a joke, though

So many opinions on this based from the trailers and personal likes. Nothing more..... This, this review gets me going. What if????? What if it just blows us all away? Its looking good!!!!!

It reads like a One-Of-The-Five-Best-Films-Of-The-Year.

When you talk about a performance that will be "remembered for ages to come" and a main character "whose story and struggle resembles Al Pacino's in Godfather: Part II" -- I don't see how you're not giving it a perfect grade.

Too bad it won't be as good as Wall-E

Yeah, the word "stunner" being thrown around along with comparisons to Heat, Godfather II, and jumping on the Heath Oscar bandwagon all in the same review. He definitely loved it, and even went so far as making fun of potential criticisms. "Yeah, it's too long IF you have a short attention span."

Travers switches around all the time, I'm pretty sure he gave Munich 3 or 3.5 stars and King Kong 4 stars on original release, then on his top 10 list Munich topped it and Kong came it at a tie for #10 with Wedding Crashers.

He gives it an A- and also says that Ledger should receive an Oscar nom. He also calls it Nolan's best film and that it's two notches above Batman Begins.

The reviews have been great so far. Things are looking like it could be the best film of the summer.

I think the hype around him (and the movie overall) is going to fuel the word of mouth to the point that it has much better legs than I previously thought. I was thinking that it would open huge and have pretty bad legs no matter how good it is. But I am now starting to get a very strange feeling about this. The reviews are not like Iron Man's, which were, "This is a pretty good movie" but never things like "visionary, stunning," blah blah blah. It could end up being a monster at the box office. Like $350 million monster.

It starts playing here on July 24th. Again, you can easily have a two/three hour ride (have no idea where you are) and see the movie in Cinestar in Zagreb or Rijeka. We don't bite.

How's the theater, state of the art, huge screens, maybe even something like IMAX? Otherwise i won't even consider it. Problem is i don't have a car, though.

Checked their homepage, doesn't look too bad. To Zagreb it would be a trip of a tad over 100km, about 2 hours with the train... hmm...

I'm hearing a lot about how violent and scary this film is. Not a good sign for it's box office. Kids won't fuel this like they do mega blockbusters if that's the case.

Isn't Croatia about to enter the EU? Aren't there plans by any studios to standardize EU release dates, or do language barriers still complicate that?
