@Dolce: True. They are dual in some ways. While I do not know what the reasoning might be here (kids not turning out gay?)...

Not about being gay...its actually about being the one thing parents fear even more than anything else when it comes to their kids...being single!

You forgot having grandkids...that's a biggie too.

I mean my parents know i'm out all the time and stuff but i make sure if theyre around and so if Rahm, i keep the door open if i'm in the room, i dont get close to her at all, physical contact unless neccessary is a big no no, though they never come out and say it but you can just tell : )

Ofcourse, there are those parents i've come across where if a girl calls up, people flip.

And we're guys!! With girls, it gets worse. My mom was still cool with my sister though. She was happy and encouraged her going out (after a certain age) but once she did, those 2 could not go anywhere unless friends were going out too. Fun fun fun. thank you for making my parents more liberal than the average family : )

No prob. My parents aren't quite like that, in fact I'm sure to this day its their dream that we date. I mean, even if its not quite like settling down, it gives them something to desperately cling to right? Everytime I tell my parents I'm dating someone its like a little light bulb goes on behind their eyes. Doesn't matter that it goes off again about three weeks later.

But yeah...they push all the time to date and then when the topic of sex comes up its like "Do you need condoms?" As though I don't know how to go to the corner store and buy 'em myself. Dating = good...sex = scary concept of little girl all grown up or something! Chicks are leaving the nest.

yea well ... the topic of intimacy (forget sex) is quite dead. Parents live in denial of us holding hands and i'm quite happy keeping it that way. : )

Bwahahaha! Sammy.

That reminds me...anyone ever been in a bachelor auction here> How much did y'all bring in?

At my past university they used to hold an anual bachelor auction to raise money for breast cancer. It was actually really nice. Just all the guys in the school would get up on stage and we'de be in the crowd to bid for our friends basically (I was never daring enough to bid for someone random). We'd pool together our money to ensure that the guys we knew wouldn't be embarrassed by not making as much as other guys, etc.

Anyways, I need to fund my college tuition too, and I'm opting for a more painless route (for me that is) than OCLegend. Excuse me while I go upload all the pics of you lovely gentlemen from the photo album and auction you off on ebay. I'm sure y'all will bring in big bucks, and I won't have to go into credit card debt.

So did you go up? How much did they pay for you? I couldn't possibly envision anything less than $1000.00.
