Not necessarily. After all, the first Harold & Kumar had a ratio over 300, and films appealing to younger females tend to have high ratios too. The ratios won't approach that level nowadays, but something like 150 is still likely, so $8m is possible for H&K2, while Baby Mama should be more looking at $5-6m.

Since both movies could potentiall do more than expected I would say that means more $$$ shaved off Iron Man OW

Why? Harold & Kumar will be insanely frontloaded and Baby Mama is a chick flick. They won't cut into Iron Man at all next weekend. And I don't really think the "dead marketplace" argument applies since we've seen that logic backfire before (M:I-III anyone?).

Nah. Neither of them would be over 10M that weekend (Baby Mama could I suppose, but it would be unlikely to happen) and the only move with a chance making more than 10M (besides Iron Man) is Made Of Honor which shouldn't affect Iron Man at all, and if it makes more than 10M, it's not going to make THAT much more. So it's possible Iron Man could be the only move over 10M.

Jeffrey Wells claims Made of Honor is tracking in the $17-19M range next weekend. Don't underestimate the McDreamy factor. Heh.

I agree it will make more than 10M (currently thinking around 13 or so at the moment), and since Iron Man won't be a Spider-Man 3 (maybe a smaller version though), it shouldn't affect Made Of Honor too much.

extremely encouraging grade, however for a film with such big internet hype, it didnt take off at all.

I kinda expected that. A lot of people didn't know it comes out at 8:00 Pm thursday. Also online sure it had hype but there isn't as a big of a fanbase for iron man as other properties so really expecting $5+ million thursday is not good.
