I suggest everyone lock in their predictions and just chill or we will be predicting a 250 million 5-day and be disappointed with a 160 million 5-day and be calling the film a flop, like after AWE.

I have no idea about the 3-day or whatever so I'll just give my grand total.

$395 million Domestic
$450 million International

$845 million Worldwide

I'm going with my gut on this one, although I haven't really done that well at all this year when I do chime in on totals. I just think we're due for this kind of total in the states and I think Indy is going to be able to deliver it. I think the opening will be huge enough to get it to this point. And if the critics are liking it as much as they are, it'll be interesting to see what the general audience will think of it. Hopefully they (including myself) will love it. I honestly don't see at this point how it makes under $300 million.

the old films were on Sci-Fi this weekend, and to my shock, at least six or seven people that I knew watched at least part of one of the films.

Indy is gonna be huge. Narnia's disappointment and its very positive reviews have concreted that.

It's gonna be HUGE. Tonight's screening was the most packed I've ever been to. People were turned away an hour before showtime.

Crowd completely loved the film, too.

^^that is fucking fantastic to hear.

just checked: Temple of Doom adjusted to around $360m, and Last Crusade to around $330m.

so if it "only" finishes in the low 300s, which would be the low-end of predictions at the moment, it would still be big on a Last Crusade level, which is pretty darn good considering the twenty years in between.

And many predictions place it above Last Crusade adjusted, and some even above Temple of Doom adjusted.

if it passes both of those...that would be incredible.

yeah the hype seems to much larger then AWE or X-Men 3.

So expect 5-day grosses to be much larger, however it is not near ROTS so I don't see over 160 million for the 5-day...

It has a good chance at cracking the top 5 biggest 5 days of release.

1. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - $172,802,507
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $169,506,744
3. Spider-Man 3 - $169,444,466
4. Spider-Man 2 - $152,411,751
5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - $147,591,127

Tracking is "low" 160's and 158 for it's 5-Day (of course, it could be off either way), but it still has a great chance at making the Top 5 (or Top 4). And I think it's important to note that the Top 3 had no holiday help, and Pirates 2 and SM3 had 2 weekdays for their 5 day. So Indy has something all these films do not, and that's 5 full days, so yeah, good chance at making this list.

Don't forget AWE last year though. RS and MTC had it's 4-Day at 170/175, not 5 day, but it's 4 day. Not saying tracking is off with Indy, but there's always a chance tracking is off, low or high.

It's wild to think that 7 years ago, that total would have been #5 of All Time material.

Well, it also would've made "only" $295.1 million if it sold the same amount of tickets, keeping it just outside the Top 10 still. Blasted inflation.

This was on BOM

Sci-Fi Channel hits record highs with Indy Weekend

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20080520scifi01

"On Saturday Sci Fi was the #1 cable entertainment network for both P18-49 and P25-54, and outperformed CBS, ABC and NBC in the 8-11pm time period."

"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was the #1 cable program for both P18-49 and P25-54 on both Saturday and Sunday, and the Saturday telecast was the #1 primetime cable entertainment program for the entire week among P25-54 viewers."

Thats pretty ridiculous and great news for Indy. Ironically I never caught Last Crusade, I watched Temple and Raiders on SciFi. My sis and mom watched Last Crusade though.
