 Mav -- My thoughts.
First off, let's please try and keep this thread civil? No insults, let's just talk this out, man to man. I'll show you respect, and I'd appreciate if you would do the same while trying to understand how this situation is for the admin team. That said, let's begin. As I understand your complaint, the following post from Snrub was being called into question: Snrub wrote: insomniacdude wrote: Maverikk wrote: insomniacdude wrote: I'm astounded by this whole scenario. There was a lot of insane babble spewed in this thread. Corpse and Co. decided to venture into the purposeful malicious attempt at short-sighted self-serving entertainment. And yet, the kicker of the whole thread that I don't think many people caught, was the amazing ability for Mav to turn it around to benefit his "I'm a man without any mistakes or faults" self-projection which, as we all know, is complete nonsense.
::sigh:: If people are promised drama and disappointed, I guess somebody will have to step up to the plate and try and deliver. Quit being an asshole. I'm about fucking sick of you constantly making shitting comments about me. Get a life, and you'll see how insignificant I am to what's important in your world. Obviously, I don't expect this to happen anytime soon, but you needed to be told. Aw hell, I don't have it in me to fight Mavvy. He's just too adorable. Go on, give him a noogie! You know you want to! As I understand the dynamic involved, you were in a bit of an argument with Insomniac. You were a bit harsh in some of your comments with him, but nothing I deem over the personal attack lines. Insomniac then came back and basically backed out of the argument (thank you Insom), and Snrub came in with a comment in response to Insom which you deemed to be baiting. The exact comment being something to the effect of "go ahead and give Mav a noogie." I think that's pretty much where we are now. I can understand why you would think Snrub is baiting you. The two of you don't get along, and I'm sure you think he will take every oppurtunity to respond in a way that will get under your skin. I actually agree, I think Snrub finds humor in watching you boil over, and likely takes any oppurtunity to get a shot or two in. Because of the above, I honestly understand why you believe he is baiting you here, and to some extent, I actually agree. Tony and Snrub were both sent a PM when you were banned as an informal warning to cut out the attacks on you. I haven't seen either of them attacking you since. Baiting is a very subjective term, and can be hard to moderate fairly. In the end, all we can do is try and understand the situation, the dynamic involved, form an opinion and make a decision. To someone directly involved, as you are now, the most minor of comments can be viewed as baiting. Unfortunatly, we (the admin staff) really don't have it in us to police every comment that a poster makes. So while I agree, there is some deffinition of baiting this comment would fall into, when we observe this situation, our opinion is that it's not serious enough to be called baiting. If we tried to police every "Go on, give him a noogie! You know you want to!" on this forum, well, it would be a full time job and that's something we simply can't do. I'm sorry I can't help you here Mav, but the reality is, you have to not let comments like this get to you. You have to get to a point where you can A) put him on ignore or B) read the comment and not react. We have an ignore function for a reason, and if you feel that you can't deal with these petty comments, it's really the only option as of this time. I wish Snrub would just not comment or post in anything dealing with or regarding you, but that's a wish, and not something we are going to force him to do. If it gets to a point where we feel Snrub's baiting is more serious, a point where we take a look at it objectivly and do feel he has crossed a line, we'll review it at that time and take the nessecarry action, but as of now, it's something that I feel you should be able to ignore, and if you can't, then the ignore function is likely the best option.

 Re: Mav -- My thoughts.
Why not just save the speech (which I didn't bother reading) and just admit how you are full of shit. Snrub tried to instigate bullshit, you protect him. Why not just suck his cock and be done with it.
My thoughts?
I expected no less from you.

 Re: Mav -- My thoughts.
I'm sorry you feel that way Mav. If you can't take what I say at face value when I tell you that I am in no way trying to give Snrub, or any member, special treatment, then there is a bigger issue at hand. Maybe the issue is just a lack of confidence in my judgment as an admin.
If that's the case, hopefully the changes coming over the next one to two weeks will help solve that problem.

Eagle, I'm very very impressed with you. We tend to agree on a lot of things politically and on principle (in and out of the political world), and you od a decent job as an admin. What really impresses me is how you continue to give Mav nothing but respect when he recipricates none of it. I applaud your efforts.

If that's the case, hopefully the changes coming over the next one to two weeks will help solve that problem. I know I got banned for swearing and you tried to say I called Tony and Snrub a name when my comment was about as general as it gets. Even Roid told you it was just a generalization. When have I even been subtle and not direct when I say something to somebody? You let youyr personal feelings rule things, and that's why Tony has never been warned and that's why Snrub has never been warned, and certain members are allowed to get away with whatever they want. Even Michael stated that. I'm not the only person who has noticed how this place operates. Many left, others bitch and complain, but the favoritisms that you show are blatant. Just like your rant threads. That was all because Tony threw a fit and said he was leaving. You insulted me for it and blamed me for "chasing off a favorite of yours". How can you blame me or the others for not having any confidence when your actions always ALWAYS support your buddies, regardless of the rules.

Guess I am not getting a reply to my PM - Regarding users breaking rules including: Profanity, Obscenity, Language, Personal Attacks.
Wonder if anyone knows the rules here?

Wonder if anyone knows the rules here? The rules are known, that's not the problem usually. It's when the actual action takes place. I agree that a forum shouldn't be super strict and follow every single rule at all times and whatnot, but when you decide you want something to follow this, there will eventually be problems when it comes to when is it time to take action and what action should be taken. And then this decision is usually reached by going into personal relationships with posters, or with the majority. If a group of posters gang up on one or two other posters, the smaller group (usually a single poster) will eventually be ruled against. Then the whole special treatment, who has been here the longest, etc. arguments come into play which complicates the situation even more. The best solution to this is to make it 100% clear no decisions on anything is ever meant to be personal, and to always be neutral no matter the parties involved. Simply saying no personal feelings for or agaisnt a person isnt enough. And some decisions may be very unpopular, but that too should never be a factor.

Well, Eagle has definitely went out of his way to make me feel very unwelcome here because of his part in that. I'm curious what loyal thinks. He also said a warning would happen if it happened one more time.

 Re: Mav -- My thoughts.
Just to step away from the oneupsmanship in this thread for a moment (or in Mav's case, I suppose it would be more accurate to say onedownsmanship ) - - I have always found Maverikk to have very good taste in movies and he writes about them with a great deal of insight. That's why this recent bout of hissy fits and temper tantrums is all the more unbecoming of him. It's not like it's Maverikk's first day on the internet - - he'll have to either get over himself or grow a thicker skin or as Eagle suggested above: Eagle wrote: You have to get to a point where you can A) put him on ignore or B) read the comment and not react. ...it's really not that complicated, and certainly worthwhile - - we hopefully have many fine years of movie squabbling ahead of us here at the World of KJ!!!

 Re: Mav -- My thoughts.
It may have been available during one of your many triumphant returns, but when you were originally banned was before we upgraded the first time and the forums turned black rather than blue. That was when we got ignore. Or else we didn't get it until we went to v3.0.

Like juju said, we had ignore at one point, but then it was lost. We didn't get it back until we upgraded to 3.0.

"just give him a noogie"
Did a comment so childish and harmless like that cause so much drama?

Wow. The "problem" is that it was said with the intent of getting Mav to throw a fit, and Mav virtuously responded by going into a fit (which I think is everybody's reaction to an e-threat of a noogie from a person you don't know).
