Post Ben Afflecks Cameo As DAREDEVIL In ELEKTRA Trimmed..
http://www.moviehole.net/news/4902.html

It seems according to MOVIEHOLE.NET, Ben Affleck was filmed for the movie ELEKTRA as doing a Cameo as the character DAREDEVIL, But the studios thought of the mega bomb GIGLI with Ben and Jennifer Lopez, that they trimmed his scene out of the film fearing it would've hurt it.... Perhaps we'll get to see DAREDEVIL Make an appearance in the film when it arrives on DVD in March huh??? You think if the studio would've kept him in there, it might've helped the film or not??? :-k

I don't think the public would have cared either way.

I don't buy all of this "we cut it out of theatrical release due to blah blah blah" garbage. Studios are now holding back scenes to make the DVD even more of an event.

They are doing it on purpose.

Yup Yup.
Im definately buying the Elektra DVD. Im actually quite suprisied it was a 12A here - there was quite alot of gore and neckbreaking and death.

But i think cutting Ben Affleck out was a good idea - he was really bad in Daredevil :Z

..etc...>>Elektra>>Catwoman>>Howard the Duck>>Red Sonja>>Barbwire

My question is if something that horrible is even considered a comic book. Dont worry its ranks before Elektra. And not far ahead is Dick Tracy and Batman Forever. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Now that I think about it Batman and Robin are just terrible so ill revise my list

..... the worst
Batman Forever>>Dick Tracy>>Elektra>>Batman & Robin>>Howard the Duck>>Red Sonja>>Barbwire

Sorry to go BKB but heres my problem with Batman Forever. The movie was basically a vehicle for Jim Carrey to showboat and go over the top. Another problem is they want to throw every star as possible in the movie and that just seems very smug. The whole problem was Jim Carrey just channels Ace Ventura and the next scene we just hear loud explosions. Thats throughout the whole movie. I also didnt like how they made Harvey Dent totally evil when he really wasnt but suffers from schitzophrenia. In fact I remember the sorry was he was supposed to be Bruce Wayne's best friend but he wasnt in the movie.

Elektra was bloody awful, but still had its fun moments. It's certainly not the worst comic book adaptation ever made. No, that honour goes to 'Steel' starring Shaquille O' Neal! Or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3!

Barb Wire is a sorely underrated film. It's certainly a lot better than it's reputation implies, and not just because Pamela Anderson gets out her boobs. Ah, I can still remember going to see it on opening night. It was an 8 pm showing and it was entirely empty but for me, my friend and three other men wearing suspiciously baggy overcoats. They all left after the first ten minutes.

My goodness Shrub. You didnt have to remind us of Steel and TMNT, now I have to change my list again. I dont know how bad Steel is but I never saw it, it looks bad from its trailers back then. Im still cringing at the thought of Vanilla Ice dancing with the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles.

GO TURTLES GO TURTLE GO
GO TURTLES GO TURTLE GO

It's Snrub! Snrub, damn you!!

It took years of research and hundreds of thousands of pounds, El, but I'm happy to say that I've had the Turtle rap physically removed from my brain for ever. I will however happily sing a bit of T-U-R-T-L-E POWER!!

"We need heroes like the lone ranger
When tonto came pronto, when there was danger
They didn't say they'd be there in half an hour,
'Cause they displayed…turtle power!"

Pure genius, no? I believe Shakespeare himself had a hand in this next little verse fragment:

"Then from out of the dark came an awesome sound!
Shouted "Cowabunga!" as they hit the ground.
From the field of weeds the heroes rescued the flower
'Cause they possessed...Turtle Power!"

A flower by any other name would smell... like April O'Neil. Grade school metaphors abound!!

I dont get why some people are being so tough on Elektra- certainly the box office indicates alot less people saw it than is claimed here...It was wholy enjoyable and the drama was surprisingly good - just generally surpassed my expectations - and saved me the bother of having to defend it and apologise to my friends if it sucked.

The people who have said that the movie is bad here are the ones who saw it MJ. The rest of us are just finding the box office funny cause we just expected the movie to be bad. I still haven't seen it, hence no comments on its quality though.

I'll agree on the film, but don't forget, you're talking about six or seven people who commented on it here. Sure, it's not big... hell, it's a damn flop. But, it's not much different than many movies. There is never a movie that everyone likes, so just enjoy Elektra for what it is. If someone doesn't like it, someone who did like it like you or me won't be able to convince them. Be glad we enjoyed it!

I saw it yesterday, Naturalflux. The drama was laughable, as was the dialogue, cgi (if you can't CGI blankets billowing in a room well, then why not just get some real blankets and a few fans? I mean, honestly!), plot and characters. The only thing that half rescued the film from being a complete turd were my already lowered expectations and a pretty sound performance from Garner (she's got the face of a rottweiler, the bone structure of Dolph Lundgren, a smile that looks like both the rottweiler and Dolph Lundgren mauled her mouth at an early age and she can't pick a script to save her life, but at least she can act.). Everything else was laughably bad. Below are a few examples of bits where I (and much of the rest of the audience I saw it with) broke into laughter.

There may be some spoilers ahead, so for those particularly eager to go into Elektra fresh and spoiler free (whoever you are), I'd ignore the next couple of paragraphs.

After a terribly animated/exposition-riddled prologue explains to us how the forces of good and evil have been fighting since the beginning of time, we're introduced to Elektra in the process of assassinating Jason Isaacs. Elektra dresses skimpily and has an embarrassing fringe. When her fringe isn't being embarrassing, it and the rest of her hair dances and flows majestically on the (indoor, mind) wind in sexy slow-mo. (cue unintentional laughter).

Elektra has a smarmy, hollywood agent-esque... um, agent. This agent gets Elektra jobs killing folk while throwing out sarcastic one-liners like a professional comedy sidekick. We first meet him as he walks into an apartment Elektra is in the process of vacating. She's washing the floor with a bucket and some rags. When asked why she's washing the floor with a bucket and some rags, Elektra explains she is removing her "D.N.A."... Yes, and good luck with that Elektra! (cue unintentional laughter).

There is an incident in Elektra's past that haunts her dreams to this day. Her father once forced her to tread water without using her hands!!! (cue unintentional laughter). Also her mother died at the hands of an assassin. While that doesn't necessarily stand out as being funny, I couldn't help but think of how Gary in Team America has never been able to forgive himself for his brothers death at the hands of zoo monkeys.

Terence Stamp is a blind kung fu master who uses a mystical kung fu technique to see the future. (cue unintentional laughter).

The crack team of assassins sent to kill Elektra and her entourage can be described as follows: One is very strong and his skin can withstand gunfire, another can cause disease and death by breathing on or kissing her prey, another has tattoos that come to life and kill folk... Their names are Stone, Typhoid and Tattoo. See if you can guess which name fits which character description... If only all of the characters had been named after their most easily identifiable characteristics! The love interest would've been called "Boring", his daughter would be "Annoying" and Elektra herself would be "Granite-Jawed Uggo". Now that's a film I'd pay to see. Jennifer Garner in... Granite-Jawed Uggo

Now, I've already made fun of Elektra's hair once this post. But what I haven't made fun of is the fact that the 10 year old Elektra we see in various flashbacks has the exact same hairdo. That's right, the assassin hasn't changed her hairdo in nearly twenty years.

There's plenty more in the film to laugh at, but I don't want to spoil it all. Needless to say, it's terrible, but it's also quite fun! But in the same way Red Sonja or Masters of the Universe is fun.

I don't care if you think she's not attractive, but freakishly ugly? It must be nice to try starting an argument for your own amusement. Or perhaps not having the ability to get someone out of your league aggravates you.

At least have the bABAlls to see the movie and form your own opinion.
