Does Anyone Else Find Shahrukh Khan Irritating?
Bollywood's biggest star? Come on! How the heck did that happen?
I just don't get why anyone would like this guy.
Does anyone else think he's annoying?

How the heck does Britney Spears, Hillary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simplson, N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, etc. sell millions upon millions of albums?
The answer is the public, any group of people, have boring, bland and horrible tastes.

His on screen persona is charismatic and he has an endearing smile.
In the famous words of Kelly Bundy, he is no "Lesbian", I mean thespian
I have seen only one movie of his and halfway thru' the movie I walked out of it. Bollywood stars and movies are pathetic at best. Actually, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada movies are more profitable than Hindi movies. In 2003, 11 telugu movies made over 150 million rupees and only 8 Hindi movies surpassed the 150 million rupees mark. This is horrendous because telugu movies are released only in two states and Hindi movies are released all over the country (28 States).

To understand Shahrukh Khan, you have to see the list of all of his movies.
The guy started out great and well, he is a heart throb for a lot of women. The guy can certainly act. He took upon some great roles at a certain period and became huge during that time, mostly because he pulled off those roles. He also created the whole acceptance for anti heros, meaning the main guy in a movie also being sinister, dark and in many ways, the villain himself (a movie without a hero). He indeed has an onscreen charisma about him and a lot of talent.
I do find him exceptionally annoying though. His roles in some ways defined him and molded him into this one type of personality, somethign thats very evident in most of his movies. you hear the same laugh, the same emotional response when hes portraying someone in pain yet in love (indian movies, you run into the bride's father many times, resulting in such situations).
But you gotta give credit where its due. Ever seen Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaeen Ge?? You should. I hate Shahrukh but his role plus the movie is one of the best to ever come out of bollywood. Plus Kajol is a hottie!

I've been forced to watch a few indian movies back in the day when I couldn't control my life (8 and under ), and I can honestly say that out of all the actors and actresses I saw on the screen, he was probably the best. Though I couldn't pay too much attention because I had to read subtitles and all and they talk really fast, but he's a funny guy actually. He's not that bad of an actor. I saw one of his dramatic roles in some movie and he did a pretty good job. I hate indian movies as a whole. They're repetitive, boring, and on the borderline of rediculous. I wish I could give some examples but I don't know any names to any of the movies, and I don't think my Mom would remember either.

yea i hate them too
but Aamer Khan in my opinion was the best and will remain so in the 90s era
These days, surprisingly a guy i never gave credit to before but is turning out movies even i'm finding watchable is Saif Ali Khan (you'll notice that the hindi film industry is dominated by the Khans)

Are they all brothers or something?! If so, it's the like Baldwins of Hollywood. Though the Baldwins are only in Blockbuster movies.

Not really. Khan is a pretty common last name. it comes from the north western side of pakistan and a afghanistan, peopel who called themselves (and still do) pathaans, or pukhtoon.
My mom's side of the family is all Khan as well.

All the Khans should do a movie together. A romcom about all 104182041 of them fighting over one girl.
Now that's original! \:D/

Zingy, considering how open and energetic you are in these forums, it takes a moment to realize that you've never revealed anything about yourself. No pic in the album, no "real" name, not much mention of family, so if you don't want to answer this question you don't have to. But I find it hard to believe any 8 year old would be exposed to indian movies unless either one or both of their parents were from the area at one point? Are you part Indian/Pakistani/something else from the vicinity?
This has to be the one time I've had no clue what a thread in this forum was about, btw. You guys shame me.

Dolce. It shocks me the number of people who watch indian movies. My first surprise came when i found out that a number of families from south east asia (which has nothing to do with the subcontinent) watch them. Others here in the west started by being exposed to indians, some of my friends did because they dated indians. Such is how it is. Atleast here in the Montreal and Toronto region.
