 Re: P.S. I Love You
It was the same thing with The Bucket List. Critics butchered the movie, but it had fantastic WOM.

I hate to say this, but the critics were right.. both PS. and Bucket List are terrible.. Funny, I don't see a review from you here for either of those two movies... Well, I watched them way behind everyone (PS. I Love You has just been released here).. it's kind of 'well, everything has been said' etc. but if you want, I don't know what do you guys think. But I'd consider 'PS. I Love You' as a romantic comedy. There were undeniably numerous humor attempts. And in my opinion, as it went for the comedy part, it's just solid at best. Some worked (especially with the scene of Swank and the girls), other some just fell flat. As for the romance, yeah there were moments when it had me touched (the best is the scene when Swank read the last latter). But those moments are just very few, and they just felt forced. And the thing with Hilary Swank and Harry Connick Jr. was just too contrived, unnatural, unconvincing. And I blame Connick for that. His acting was just so weird. The worst thing is they had gone wrong at the first place with the first scene (when the two leading were fighting). I don't know the actual attention behind this scene. But IMO, they were trying to give us the whole idea of how the relationship between the main leads is, in this one 5-minute scene. Nice idea, I'd say. But that scene just didn't work for me. It wasn't just 'I barely felt anything', I FELT NOTHING. Instead, that scene was just annoying and oddly uncomfortable to watch. And the followed movie wasn't just any better. C-

And for some reason..
The movie is doing great over here as well..
It's just going to cross the million mark (which is huge).. the first romantic comedy to pass that mark since Hitch..

The bit where they meet is easily the worst part of the movie. It was like a 15 minute scene.

I loved the beginning scene with them fighting and I loved the scene of them meeting.

 Re: P.S. I Love You
So i didnt catch this for a LONG time, and a LOT of people ranted about it to me after it did exceptionally well on DVD and at the movies here.
And i can see why - it's really a beautiful romantic comedy. It's more of a romantic drama. It felt fresh but it was deeply touching and different and It worked on many levels for me. I really enjoyed it
