Horton Hears a Who!, also known as Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!, is a 2008 American CGI-animated comedy feature film based on the Dr. Seuss book of the same name. It is the fourth feature film from Blue Sky Studios, and the third Dr. Seuss-based feature film, following How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat. It is also the first Dr. Seuss adaptation fully animated using CGI technology.

Well this is by far and away the best of the current crop of Dr Suess films, and given that tGWSC/CitH were both total failures it wasn't to hard to exceed them. Horton while not being a home run, does provide a decent story and fair mix of humorous moments that should keep the masses thoroughly entertained. Yes there moments of complete overkill and outright silliness, but the good just slightly outweighed the bad. If you want to take the kids to the movies and not have to worry about offensive content Horton is a film for you.

80% RT + a C from Mr Pink equals a great film. I'm seeing this tomorrow.

LOL, are you nuts. As much as I hated The Grinch, it was a great adaptation that was almost universally loved.

Re: Horton Hears a Who!
Are you talking about the live-action film with Jim Carrey that Mr Pink was referring to? Because it isn't exactly "universally loved", not with a 52% RT grade. And I've seen plenty of hate for that film, and not only on the internet.

Me, too. I just don't get all the hate for it that I see online...
I can't wait to see this movie! Jim Carrey and Steve Carell in a movie together? Brilliant.

I liked it. The combination of Jim Carrey, Steve Carell and Seth Rogen help make it a good time for someone who doesn't generally like kids movies. It's enjoyable.

I'm not like enthusiastic about it, heh. It's just...good. That's farrrrr better than 99% of kids movies we see lately.

A-. I kinda loved it. It's very sweet, very "nice", but always really funny. I think without the vocal cast they got, it wouldn't have been half as good. The animation is well done, and the story never feels like it's going thin and overly stuffed to make it longer, it was just right.

Took my kid sister to this...I liked it a lot more than I was expecting (despite knowing the positive reviews). Most of the jokes worked, it had a heart and when all else failed, it was oh-so beautiful to look at. B
In other news, everyone loved the Wall-E trailer. Also, I walked into 10,000BC for 5 minutes before Horton started. How pathetic. I was embarrassed to be a movie fan.

I thought it was pretty hilarious and the animation was very, very good. The jokes worked, and despite it being a "Dr. Suess" film it had a good pace and was very entertaining.

This movie was adorable. The animation was gorgeous and the film was often hilarious, but it was the heart of the film that really made it work for me. One of the best animated efforts in quite some time. B+

Not too shabby. They did the best the possibly could out of this short story. The voice cast was phenomenal. I enjoyed Carrey bringing back some of his Cable Guy voice in a few scenes lol. The random anime scene was pretty funny.

Easily my favorite part as well! I still repeat that line once in a while (the face she makes and sound included)
I really liked this movie, although it was a little unevenly paced. A-

Just saw this; pretty good. B-. Enjoyable, but not the best animated film of the year by any stretch.
Liked the anime section although it made absolutely no sense in the context of the film. (Why was Horton imagining himself as an anime hero? Where has he ever seen anime? Or Japanese culture at all for that matter? He didn't even know what a bathroom was.)
Kept waiting for him to sing the Hut Sut song and for the monkeys to say "boil that dust speck!"
