Seriously, what were you expecting?
A horror movie that actually made me horrified at what I was seeing or brought forth emotions other than boredom and deja vu. you're a complete idiot if you went in expecting that. That's what a horror movie should deliver. It's right there in the definition. i know. but you knew before going in to seeing Prom Night (rated Pg-13) that you were going to get some watered down PoS. Like I said, if you went in expecting otherwise you are a complete idiot. PG-13 shouldn't mean being bored. M. Night Shyamalan has made some good PG-13 "horror" films like The Sixth Sense. The fact that you are comparing Prom Night to The Sixth Sense terrifies me. Go back to your DTV obsession, it makes you look better.

 Re: Prom Night [2008]
What about the original Halloween, the same exact type of movie as Prom Night. It would be PG-13 if released now. It shows the right way to make a slasher film without a lot of gore.

For one, you calling anyone an idiot is pretty amusing. But you're right, getluv. How dare I go into a movie hoping to be entertained... or anything? I mean, I listed off every basic emotional response when going to a horror movie.

So you're saying that the key to Prom Night is to go in expecting an awful movie, and then be satisfied by the ninety minutes of awful, boring movie? Well, it explains how you got through some of those SMG flicks.

I didn't expect anything when i went into see Prom Night but i didn't expect to be blown away from the people associated with The Convenant.

 Re: Prom Night [2008]
Really enjoyed this one for some reason. It's not scary at all, but it's very entertaining and fast-paced. I really liked the characters and it was fun seeing a slasher film on the big screen again (despite this being a watered-down one). With the torture-porn fad dying down, I hope the slasher film (my personal favorite kind of horror film) can stage a comeback. Brittany Snow was quite good, as was Dana Davis. I'd recommend it. B

I'd certainly rather watch this than most of the horrible horror films released as of late ( Hostel: Part II, Saw IV, Captivity, etc.) Is it a great horror film? Absolutely not. But looking it purely in terms of entertainment value (and the fact that it's essentially a teen flick), I had fun.

I used to be a huge fan of the genre and last year over half of my bottom ten was comprised of horror films. Thankfully things seem to be turning around, as evidenced by last week's The Ruins.
