Outside of High School Musical, he's been in The Derby Stallion (lead) and Hairspray. Then 17 Again with Leslie Mann, Matthew Perry, and Michelle Trachtenberg this August. The last HSM this OCT. And he's currently filming Me and Orson Welles (the only other co-star I know of is Claire Danes), I'm guessing a mid/late 2009 release. Then the musical-remake of Footloose (Ren), which I'm guessing will see summer 09 (could take the Hairspray, Mamma Mia, musical trend), or maybe not until 2010.
I don't think he's a bad actor, but he hasn't had a wide variety of roles, so it's yet to be seen how good/bad he'll be imo. He has said he doesn't want to continue with Musicals much longer, and wants to be more of a drama actor in the future. I haven't seen anything he's been in yet, but I do know of him. I was looking over his bio at IMDB and reading up on the Orson Welles film. Orson's name alone will give it a stamp of approval and put serious film lovers on notice about him. The rest is up to him.

Mav when this thread gets locked (which SHOULD be soon) i will probably laugh and then smile, then laugh again as I smile, I will probably laugh for a few minutes followed by a good smile, i will smile all day long and probably laugh intermittently throughout the day at the thought of this thread getting locked. I will then laugh and smile again when your other threads get locked too which shouldn't be that hard.
