And no one knows why. He said he felt tired and took a nap and never woke up. He was in his late 30s, and helped me run my LARP since around 1990. When I moved to PA, he and his wife liked it and they moved out here too.

He was one of the most creative people I knew. (You may have heard of his brother, Christian Finnegan, the comedian, who has been seen on various TV shows).

I am still in shock.

Life sucks, and that's the moral, everyone. There is no God, and if there is, he's a bastard.

I'm sure this won't be one of his best weeks ever. I'm sure to see him at the funeral.

Damn this is depressing.

I'm really sorry to hear that Mike.

A kid who graduated in my HS class committed suicide three weeks ago. He was a pretty cool, popular kid with a bright future in sports (he was on baseball and football; I used to work out with him when I was younger); no one - besides maybe his best friends - had any idea he was struggling.

His passing put some things in perspective. I wish I could stay on my high horse, and continue believing that my closest colleagues (and I) are not susceptible to life's evils, but, alas, we are not an immune bunch.

Sorry to hear that, Mike. I'm no stranger to close deaths. They are life altering. Numbing. It's an instant and jarring change that becomes the new status quo, and we are helpless to do anything but adjust to it as quickly as possible.

Mavs right man, as hard as it is...don't turn the sadness into anger or hate. It unfortunately is a part of life that everybody goes through and god knows it more painful when its someone close than when its yourself :(

That is really shitty. Sorry for your loss.

I actually think I saw his comedy act so I checked his MySpace Page.

Anyway, I think both the friend and his wife have quotes on their pages that probably should be changed.

Spoiler: show
The brother - "I Take Delight in the Misfortunes of Others!"

The Brother's wife - "I'll sleep when I'm dead."

I'm sorry to hear that. I've never had to experience a loss of this caliber, and I hope I'll never have to for as long as I can. I honestly don't know what is going on in your head or your heart right now, but my condolences are with you regardless.

Unfortunately, the only way to avoid experiencing the death of friends, is to die young yourself.

We're all going to die - - it's part of life.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :( One of my best friends died three years ago yesterday. I was in eighth grade when it happened and it was quite possibly the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with. She got hit by a drunk driver while she was delivering girl scout cookies. It still makes me incredibly upset just thinking about it. But believe me, it will hurt for quite awhile but you will be able to make yourself live with the pain and it will become much easier to live with over time.

I'm sorry for your loss but maybe should consider attending a Catholic Church to help you with your loss of faith???
