Zara is decent when it comes to clothes and such. They run way tight though, so look out.

Yeah, I definitely prefer european cuts, so I'd be fine with this.

Then you'll love it. I've tried to like their sweaters and shirts, but they don't go down far enough. My belt is visible even on an X-Large, and I'm only 5 foot 10.

What's the price range like?
I've heard the quality sucks, but I'm generally looking to replace a few oh-so-high-school sport shirts with some more flattering ones temporarily. My body's still changing, so I'm not going with $500 Gucci shirts that'll last me a lifetime yet.

Depends on what you get. Most of the clothes are very cheap. Sweaters are $40 to $80 usually. T-shirts are about $24. The quality is great for the price if you ask me. IMO, Banana Republic or J. Crew are better for the money because Zara's sweaters for example, will be rough as hell or their shirts look like hell after 15 washes. I don't know that much about Zara so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I agree with the idea of waiting until you are older to buy fancy clothes. I learned the hard way. Over the past four years I have donated close to $3,500 worth of clothes to charity because they were either too big or too small for me. I lost a big amount of weight and then got into weight lifting and exercise regimens. Big weight fluctuations.

I mean, I'm almost 20.
I'm definitely a spender. But there's some things - mainly formal wear tops - that you shouldn't pay a premium for, unless you're going to get good life out of them. I had to justify a Theory sport coat the other day; I'm a 36-38R. How many people stay at that size for life?

OOh, not many. I see your dilemma.

So, no one really dug the Lauryn Hill piece. I'm moving onto another rapper - Weezy F. Babyyyyyy.
(and that's a freestyle, hubba).
This guy isn't the best lyricist ever, but it's refreshing to see a mainstream artist with so much energy. He's released more stuff on the web in the past year than 2Pac released his entire life (and that's a lot). Most of it's ace, too.

I love lil wayne. He is of very few GOOD mainstream rappers. You should check out his mix tapes..."I can't feel my face," and "dedication 2" are a couple of my favs.
I just heard his new single from Carter 3 on the radio "I'm me." HOT

Parallels.
Does anyone have experience with either this, or VMWare Fusion?
I need to install XP so that I can watch movies on Netflix .
I tried to install Parallels yesterday, and got to the point where it was installing XP, as on a new PC, but it was stalling at "33 minutes remaining" of the XP setup. So i "stopped" it and uninstalled Parallels.
First, is the hard drive okay?
Second, if I want to approach this again, what should I do/not do for a smooth set-up? I can't imagine using Parallels more than once a week, for three-five hours, so...

Re: da torri's thread (Parallels for Mac - HELP!)
I have parallels, I had no issue installing XP, but be wary of the updates, at least one of them totally fucked windows on parallels, and i had to completely install XP till I figured out which update it was.

I made a list of my favorite songs, and have decided to post it here.
This Top 100 list is very different than the one I posted three years ago.

Nope.
But tons of other good music, and some you should download that you may not know about.

Re: da torri's thread (da torri's Top 100 songs!)
A Silver Mt. Zion - Blown-Out Joy From Heaven's Mercied Hole
This song is probably my favorite instrumental piece, ever. Something about this song makes me want to get up and write a movie, just so I can use this in a scene.
A Tribe Called Quest - Keeping It Moving
Whatever happened to Q-Tip? His lyrics are ace here.
Aaliyah - Don't Know What To Tell Ya
A guilty pleasure. One of many on this list.
AFI - Girl's Not Grey
I liked AFI before the whole Universal deal happened. And, I'm telling you - nothing of theirs, before the deal, rivals Girl's Not Grey as a perfect, 3 minute pop song.
Aimee Mann - That's Just What You Are
One of those personal songs that got me through a relationship. I love the irony in her lyrics.

Re: da torri's thread (da torri's Top 100 songs!)
Alicia Keys - You Don't Know My Name
This song convinced me that Kanye West is a real "musician," not just your run-of-the-mill producer. The song transcends the auditory sense; when Alicia croons "You don't know my name," your heart feels her pain, your throat feels her passion, you get goose bumps, etc. This is not her voice, but Kanye's production skills at work.
The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
A helluva crescendo. The theme builds and builds and builds, until you can't even recognize it. This song defies traditional pop structure, while still being sonically pleasing.
Babasonicos - Irresponsables
I love Babasonicos' more tripped-out, psychedelic rock, but equally love the 60s-rock theme here. Give it a try!
The Beatles - Something
A beautiful song (Note: My favorite Beatles song changes on an almost month-to-month basis).
I don't know why there's no YouTube video up that has the whole song - this is probably they're most popular one. Anyways, probably one of my Most Played songs of all time. The infectious guitar melody, calming lyrics, and "life goes on" lyrics? I think it's impossible to be down after listening to this song.

Re: da torri's thread (da torri's Top 100 songs!)
Ben E. King - Stand By Me
How can you not love this song? It's so sweet.
Big Pun ft. Joe - Still Not A Player
Another guilty pleasure.
Billy Joel - Scenes From An Italian Restaurant
I love how Joel captures a NYC aura in this song.
Bob Dylan - Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
My favorite Dylan. Powerful imagery here about being lost in foreign places.
Bright Eyes - At The Bottom Of Everything
To those doubting Conor Oberst as my generation's Dylan, this song is your proof.
"All I have is my love of love, and love is not loving." A really tough choice for favorite Bowie song (it's really a mood thing), but I think Soul Love, atm, expresses everything I love about him. The nothing-else-like-it sound, the lyrics connecting the past, present, and future to the personal, and his voice. He's definitely my favorite artist of all time.
Death Cab for Cutie - Expo '86
Again, a tough choice for favorite DCFC song, between this, Death of an Interior Decorator, and Blacking out the Friction. These lyrics speak to me the most, though (and, let's be honest: ever Death Cab song is, at least, sonically good).
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen
Dixie Chicks - Travelin' Soldier
I don't know if it's fair to dismiss this as a guilty pleasure.
