I'll talk to xiayun, but I think a deadline push may be in order for the simple fact we have not gotten nearly the amount of ballots we have hoped for (I think we have less winners ballots than we received nomination ballots). I will take partial blame for this, but I think everyone understands considering what happened in the nominees announcement thread.

I've counted 32 ballots so far.

Yeah, unless we get a massive surge before the night is over, I think we may have to delay just out of necessity.

Well, I'm (hopefully) seeing Blood and Atonement today and then I will submit my ballot. So a lot of other people might be in the same boat.

Delay it by a couple of days and I promise I'll go into full force harassing people to szbmit the ballots!

The new deadline is Friday, February 22nd by 11:00 PM PST

This will give us an entire week to get more ballots. I am hoping for at least 50, and we have 33 right now. xiayun and I will discuss when the best time/date will be for both of us to announce the winners. I have really dropped the ball in organizing the presenters, so I'm thinking we'll scrap that this year and adopt a similar format to the nominees announcement thread. To anyone who already wrote their presenting speech (Michael), I apologize for the inconvenience. As I said previously, it was difficult to really get re-committed to this for awhile after the negative reactions in the nominees thread. However, I am hoping this extra time will give me a chance to get this back into the position it needs to be. Thank you for your patience everyone, and use the extension to its full advantage! I already scavenged the web for cool VFX pics of the nominated films. And I wrote my speech. Please....at least let me present VFX....please!!!

Don't get rid of the presenters! That way it feels like a real award show.

Yeah, I'd much rather stick with presenters also. Depending on which night we do this, I can present multiple awards. But if it's Friday/Saturday/Sunday night next week, I can't be here.

I've now seen Knocked Up, There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men. I might catch Sweeney Todd too before voting. Only Juno will remain unseen.

Can I offer one small suggestion? I'm not sure if this is the only thread for the awards so far, but could someone post the deadline into the title box? I didn't even know the deadline had already passed, and I'm sure other people were the same way. I want to vote in these but I just don't want to forget.
